Health Insurance - This is Insane

It’s totally broken
1. Prices
2. Healthcare system
3. Public safety/border
4. Job creation
5. Reduce gov spending
6. Lift SS caps

That is a platform. Ukraine we’re done. Zelensky don’t come back. We’re going to support you at the level of whatever marker. NATO percentage. Whatever. That’s it. No more. And loans not grants. Like everyone else

It seems like it is the Ambulance company that is penalizing them for having insurance.
It’s very common to have different prices for self-pay and insurance paid.

We would do ourselves a lot of favors to stop relying on 3rd party payers for healthcare goods/services.

But we don’t think we would.

Agreed but the ambulance company is being unreasonable at those amounts. I don’t know any judge that would disagree.

Totally agree. Was merely commenting that it seems like it's the ambulance company that set the different prices.

Stopped using dental insurance for anything other than catastrophic needs for just this reason.

Yeah that’s the thing. Many ambulance companies are separate from the hospitals. Take an ambulance. Haven’t gotten your final med bills and the ambulance co has already sued you on their bulk collection docket

Helicopter is really bad. That’s about $40k

Not sure what medic rules are but in my office we charge a flat $80 for uninsured. If I see an insured patient and their copay or allowed charge is > $80 we are committing insurance fraud if we charge the uninsured rate. Healthcare laws and insurance are insane

Agreed. The nonsensical tweet about California is just that - nonsensical.

I would lawyer up with a friend that’s a lawyer and go to war.

I ran into a similar situation with my dad and his nursing home, after he died. I won't bore you with the details, but I promptly paid them the out of pocket billing, but when they tried to come back with the nonsense about insurance "allowing" them to bill more I told them to pound sand. They threatened to sue, and turned me (technically my mom) over to collections. Old family friend/attorney wrote them a letter saying he looked forward to seeing them in court and that was the end of it.
