Fred Glass: Coaching List....

Maybe it's been brought up before, but what about Tom Thibodeau. He had success with the bulls. I know he's an NBA guy, but would he not be worth a look?

he is a good coach but unlikely he would go back to college. His style seems NBA all the way - ala Jeff Van Gundy

I don't like playing this game while the coach's seat is occupied. But I will make an exception this one time just because I like to think outside the box. And when I peeked outside the box, I saw Steve Gansey -- a smart, hard-nosed, experienced coach who might not cost $10 million a season. And I'll bet he comes with Larry Bird's imprimatur. Never heard of him? Here's a linky thingy:

Thibs is a Boston guy from his asst. days with doc before the bulls. Maybe he should be the Celts coach when Steven returns to Indiana as the IU coach.

The best x and o guy available is Thibodeau. That would be my first call to see if he is even interested in college ball. If he is, he'd also have to have a whiz bang recruiter on board. Just can't see him liking recruiting, but I would love to see what a well coached IU team on BOTH ends of the floor would look like.

Would be good with Stallings or Bryce Drew as consolation prizes also.

Fred, here is the names you start with...
Brad Stevens....You have to make the call to at least know if interested.
Greg Marshall...IU fans know basketball and this guy "coaches" good basketball.
Chris Mack.....Done a very good job a Xavier and has a great relationship with Indiana high school coaches and AAU coaches.
Archie Miller.....Comes from good bloodlines and coaching tree
Tony Bennett...coaches a brand of basketball that IU fans would embrace
Thad Matta.....Rumblings of health issues but the guy can coach and recruit
Brad Underwood....kind of a flyer here but a guy that is building a solid reputation
Kevin Stallings....yes a PU disciple but a guy that can coach and develop players.

I think our next coach is in this group right here.....what say you?
Kevin Stallings??
