Have to hand it to Wisky

Don’t make this personal Fred. I’m just pointing out the spin job. Name one school who hasn’t upgraded their facility’s. I support our coaches and AD but let’s not pretend like he’s above any criticism. We don’t know if CTA is the right guy (hopefully he is) but if he’s not, Freddy is responsible. No more excuses. Period.

I don’t disagree by any stretch, but the program is also in a better position than in 2016. Why? Because FG actually trusts CTA and will stay the hell out of the way, and give him the resources he needs. It was clear early on that FG didn’t trust CKW and almost immediately regretted the hire. I’m not here to debate if FG made a mistake, I’m obviously biased and wouldn’t have fired CKW. But that’s not what’s important. What is important is that the more FG stays out of the way and let’s the coach coach, the better that is for the program. Micromanagement is a way to quickly leave your program in a bad spot and create friction.

FG had a year to analyze CTA, to study him, to learn what he needed to learn about him. He then promptly made a hire. There’s a level of trust here that wasn’t there with Wilson for one reason or another. It appears (from the outside looking in) that FG is staying out of football operations and letting CTA do his thing, unlike with Wilson, in which it appears he always had a watchful eye over Wilson’s shoulder. By default that’s a slightly better/less disfuncfional situation.
