Without question. Even Illinois shooting just under 50% from 3...

couldn't save his mistakes today. Some of his called sets at the end were a little confusing to this fan. Such an important road win.

I'm no Crean apologist, but imagine the criticism on this board if our big man tallied zero points and only 2 boards before fouling out. Against a team with no big man.

I was wrong

I thought Groce would make a big effort to take advantage inside in his halftime adjustments. They shot it well enough outside, but we out-rebounded them and believe won the points in the paint.

Illinois doesn't take good shots. I am not impressed with their basketball IQ.

I was also wrong about a 4-1 start in the B1G. I thought 3-2 would have been a stretch in these first 5 games.

Yeah, badly...

..he's got the best free throw shooting team in the B1G, but early success with the three by Nunn took him out of what should have been his game plan: drive the ball against a smaller team and get to the line.

Hell, I expected Egwu to have a monster game against us, but he was a total bust today. I think we even out-rebounded them.

Its rare you get to say we outcoached another coach. Grove is really bad.
