good chance for folks who can't usually get into the hall to see a game...lots of wide-eyed gawkers, photos and people explaining to others who is who and aspects like Under 8 etc.

Place was loud and supportive,

Only at IU.

You could tell from the TV. Dakich made mention of it, and they showed the whole lower bowl several times in wide shots. Crowd had a lot to do with the run IU had that put them in position to win.

Reported attendance was 12,225
That seems low to me. Lower sections were near capacity and balconies looked to be about 1/3 full.

Not sure how it could be that low. The balconies hold less than 4,000 and they were about least half full. Main and floor were full except the very upper corners on West.

Fake news- there was at least 22,000 there 1 hour before tip.

Loved all the little kids there. It was great. Many people, who normally can't get into an IU game were there. Made it a family affair. They were much more vocally supportive, also, than the grey-headed donors, who occupy most of the lower bowl, usually.

Read a report from that the administration gave 160 tickets to big brothers/boys and girls club. Also 69 tickets went to first timers to the hall and I heard that student were let in free, so the students section didn't go to the paid stat

That makes sense and helps explain it .

They moved the students to fill the south baseline and that was nice to see. The normal main level student sections were festival seating and packed...for once.

I agree with many posters here on a good thing that non-standard attenders got to see them play. I really liked the opportunity for people that normally don't want to pay Stubhub prices to see them play... got a chance to get good seats.
My daughter and son-in-law live in Ellettesville and we would all love to attend a regular season game.... but as mentioned.... trying to get 4 great seats... sitting together is very expensive.

So glad that the attendance was so good and the crown was loud and proud yesterday.

Place only holds 17 and change and it wasn't quite full. Nice try.
Excuse me? There were easily 22000 at the Hall. Not quite full? You are senile! They called in extra security to monitor those waiting in line. Easily 350,000 plus in line. National Guard and FEMA officials noted they hadn’t seen anything like it since Disney on Ice 1963. And we know how that went down. Don’t we?

You have the same crowd estimating skills as @hunkgolden
