Gene Hackman

The Conversation. Also including John Cazale, who has the highest batting average of all time as an actor…

Edit: sorry Murt, you’ve probably never heard of him, but he was in the Godfather, if only you’d seen it.🙄

Zero chance it’s better than tonight’s southern charm. Zero

What does that mean?
Mummification prevents decomposition by drying out the body. Given it’s Santa Fe, I suppose that’s possible.

Whatever happened, I’d wager a lot of details remain to be discovered and revealed to the public.

The bodies were apparently discovered in different areas of the house, his in the mud room and hers in a bathroom, apparently with pills scattered around her body. Curious.

And a dead dog in a closet.

If Popeye Doyle went out taking his boots off or putting them on in the mudroom, then so be it. Wonder if the wife was a nutjob and finally couldn't take seeing him like that?

That's a lesson in why you want a dog and not a cat too.

Her dog being found in what was called a "bathroom closet" is what I find strangest... Nobody puts their dog in the bathroom closet...

I could be wrong, (I know it's hard to imagine but it has happened at least once in the distant past), but I find the dogs location a major red flag...

Then again..., if she was completely distraught and in totally whacked out mode I suppose she might have figured someone would find both of them and the dog right away but it still seems a Really an odd move... Most people love their dog too much to make that move and take the chance that no one is coming in time...

I remember seeing this too. I think the guys who wrote it - who I believe still live in Bloomington - talked about how he almost immediately regretted signing on and basically thought they weren't up to making the movie.

This article quotes David Anspaugh about a scene in the movie where you can actually see Hackman telling Hopper that he thought they both ended their careers by signing onto it:

"There's a scene in the montage where Hickory starts winning, and there's a shot of Dennis Hopper. The camera's across the floor, and it's shooting towards the Hickory bench, and you've got music going. And you see Hopper and Hackman sitting there, and you see Dennis kind of laugh and slap his leg. That was a reaction, and I didn't find this out until just a couple year before Dennis passed. He finally told me, 'Don't you know what happened there? Hackman said to me, 'Dennis, I hope you've invested well, because we'll never work again after this film.' He had no belief in that movie, or me, at the time."

Obviously when the movie came out and it started getting critical acclaim he changed his tune.
Read an article sometime back with Anspaugh and Pizzo, and they said Hackman just thought the two were too green at the time to be able to make a good movie. When it was finished, and they had the first screening, Hackman told them that he didn’t know how they pulled it off, but somehow it all worked. They said that all through the production they thought Hackman was going to quit, so it was quite a stressful experience for all.

Does seem to be a possibility of some foul play. And the pictures I’ve seen of them with their dogs showed German Shepherds, not easy to subdue.

I would want to know if the dogs favorite toy was in there with him/her (one he was just nuts about) after that I'd want to check its stomach for food (but it's probably too late for that)...

However he ended up in there it was either his owner or someone it trusted that got him in there... If it had sensed danger (directed towards its owner) it would have ripped the threat apart or died trying to..,,

Where's Hillary?

Coming up from were you'd never expect her... She could be behind you Right Now.. 🙉

I've heard she doesn't take well to these type of innuendos... ☠️

Be sure to not drop that bar on your throat during your 2nd set of Bench Presses...; try to avoid any flights to Serbia...; stay out of secluded parks with your firearms..., And keep your head on a swivel... 😉😎
