Look. I’ll be as clear as I can for you. Grown men having sex with children is horrendous and a crime. There are no political blinders any decent human being should be viewing this through. If you do, you are a terrible human. If your excuse for anyone’s terrible and criminal actions are that some equally terrible person from a different political persuasion did it, I’d recommend you do some introspection.
Gaetz is a Class-A slime ball regardless of whether or not he banged a teen hooker. There are 999 other reasons why he shouldn't have this appointment.
I would venture to say that most everyone on this board wouldn’t be in their current jobs with 3 DUIs. In Indiana, you might be permanently disbarred.
If you are willing to recess appoint a position as important as AG you might as well blow up the government, separation of powers, etc. Going to be fun watching thus train wreck. The economic engines of this country rely on some level of predictability and normalcy. The markets hate uncertainty.

Has this guy (Gaetz) ever tried a case? Or even set foot in a courtroom? After graduating from law school he was in private practice for about five minutes before becoming a career politician.
There are people reading this who are probably more qualified for AG than Gaetz.

I feel if she was representing as 18, it's a factor, and if that's true, then the drug use if true bothers me as much. I knew a couple senior girls when I was a junior in high school, shacking up with their much, ten years-ish, older adult boyfriends. I didn't like it then either.

It’s really something that the Trump fans just brush it off and say “well, we will just do recess appointments”. Like that makes it OK.
To all you normal folks who voted for Trump because you thought you would get policies you prefer, nope. You won’t get anything. These 2 years of the GOP controlling the federal government will be wasted. Just like the last time. It will be a circus at best and an unmitigated disaster at worst.

He ran on loyalty. Gaetz has been a stalwart. I'm shocked that anyone is shocked. I didn't vote for the man, but any Trump voter should be delighted. So far it's full steam ahead with the agenda.
If I were a Trump voter and he passed Trump's character test then he would pass mine. Trump deserves the cabinet that he wants. How can you blame him if he is unable to act on his agenda if he does not have the team he wants assisting him?
Can be a Trump voter and still expect the senate to do their jobs and weed out the worst of Trumps base instincts. There's reasons to prefer Trump over Kamala than 'he always rulz!' Three branches of government after all.
But, Trump character test, hmm... if Gaetz grabs 'em by the pussy, he's in then. And there's plenty of smoke in that direction.

I doubt trump expects him to get approved it just focus all the energy on this while his other nominees cruise through.
