Frustrating night in Mackey

I also have a child that is a PU alumnus. Obviously, been there several times and find the campus the most uninteresting of any I've been to. Wrote a ton of checks to them (it's called tuition and room and board). Attended one FB and BB game. I would refer to Mackey as a hog barn, but never in my child's presence. PU has the most unfriendly fanbase of any. Very defensive and void of humor. Not everyone, including my child who could care less of PU sports.
Ehhh, still don’t believe fraudsense has a kid who went there.

This is a good thread to mention that Purdue fans have fallen, in my opinion, all the down into MSU/OSU territory as far as being foul and low class.
They used to be better than that. Now they suck.

Iu sucks is in context? Paint crew only chants it vs iu. Purdue supporting cast didn’t play well last night. Didn’t think Smith played all that well either tbh. Cox and Harris will be good in time. They are freshman.

Place was also loud vs Michigan. It’s not just an iu thing. FYI.

Iu played the best game I’ve seen them play this year. They’d make the tournament if they played like that. Can they only get up for Purdue?
disagree! I was at the PUke/ND game. Every time ND scored (which was as often as IU did, btw) the PUke faithful would chant "IU sux!" during the ensuing kickoff. You are NUTS if you think this isn't the case!!!!

What about the asinine chant during every kickoff? Didn’t have many opportunities to do that this year did you? The Boilers never scored, 66-0 will do that to you.

Where have I said anything about football? This was clearly about basketball and the Paint Crew. Try again.

Yes, uninteresting, unfriendly. The campus is nice I guess in the same way a military base is nice. My daughter finished up there in 2017. Only game I attended there was the 2015 IU football game.

Anyway, despite going there, she maintained her love for IU sports.

Have they ever fixed.that funky smell there when it rains?

There are IU fans that have kids that go to PU, and vise versa: it is very possible. See Matt Painter: his entire family went to IU and are IU fans.
I strongly suspect that the Painter family fan allegiance that you cited should use the verb "were" instead of "are".

I'm sure Painter's family wants him to do well and are fans of him. Painter's entire family went to IU and have been enormous IU fans: there was an IU room in his house growing up. Matt himself was an enormous IU fan. I am a newer acquaintence with the old law partner of Painter's Dad, and he said Majerus recruited Matt hard when he was at Ball St.

Because they (you don't go) do.

Hope that helps.

Welcome to ignore Gilligan, enough is enough
You go to more games than just iu? Crazy you accuse me of not going. Been to three games this year and didn’t hear chants about iu once. lol what other games have you gone to?

So what if they chant it. It’s not like it’s false. Their own fans post it here every day.

I am a season ticket holder and have been to every home game. Sadly it is not chanted anymore.

Its great to see the IU fans have moved on from "BASKETBALL" talk, to the big "FAN" debate! LOL
Now that Purdue week has passed and until the next one...I will leave all of you fine pu roaches that live here with this:

Please please please don't ever stop chanting IU sucks at all games and events including FF watch parties and FF home bars, campus bars and according to my kid: BGR. Don't ever stop focusing on us 24/7/365

We chuckle at the rent free space we occupy in your semi-empty heads as you all run and brag to your IU bosses today. We pat you on the head.

It defines you as a fanbase. Always has, always wil

"your state" lolol

You may all have the last sob...

Sincerely,

CS2

Chemistry 101 informs students that water is the universal solvent. Rain breaks down the molecular structure of the cow manure, aiding bacteria to release the all too noxious-to-the-nostrils chemical compounds indole, skittle, hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans, which in combination smells like sh*t, causing even their most pompous campus official, Mitch Daniels, to flinch. A special President's Council was called to study this offensive matter and determined the manure too thick to be economically feasible to remove without having to raise student tuition.

Are you sure all cow manure? Are Purdue students using the inside bathrooms on campus?

I note that you acknowledge that the Painter family support of their member. What you fail to acknowledge is that they must also be Purdue fans because support of the two is tied together, and are positively correlated with a correlation coefficient of essentially 1.0. Your use of the present tense instead of the past was, I believe, intentional and designed to suggest a false impression. One microsecond of thought would have dictated the use of the past tense.

Whatever the past allegiance of the family was is now irrelevant. It has the same effect on the present as the color of the shirts that they were wearing when watching those old games on tv or in person.

In thinking about the evolution of the family loyalty, I was reminded of the words in a hymn heard at a recent church service. "I once was lost, but now I am found. Once blind, but now I see." I am sure that the poster on this board, Van Pastor Man will appreciate the reference.

I'll bet you're a hoot at parties. Jesus F***ing Christ! I'm sure people forget where they go to school 🙄

66-0 and an absolute classically shit season with a terrible coach will shut up a fanbase really quick.
I’ve never seen someone post the score of a rivalry game so much in my life. Walter’s was fired, so that’s all that matters. One historically bad season won’t keep Purdue super bad.

Always cracks me up when some insecure rando so desperately wants to be accepted that they look up a bunch of words and concepts they don't understand and them butcher them in actual application.

One of our best friends oldest son is a student at Purdue, goes to roughly "half" the games. He said every game parts of the student section will fire up the "IU sucks" chant, and usually its gets scolded/shot down. He said he often sits near one of the sides of the Paint Crew, and adult fans closest to the student section ALWAYS join in the chant when it fires up.
