be on a plane first thing tomorrow morning to Auburn, Alabama. Don’t return until you have Bruce under contract to coach IU.

Guy is a flat out winner. Has been everywhere he’s been for 30 years. And he always has his teams ready to play. You’ll never see his guys come out flat and disinterested.

Been saying it for years. Time to finally get it done.

Bruce Pearl would have been on your latest “cant win with talent” had he put up records at IU like he did his first 3 years at Auburn. Get real dude. I’m starting to think you aren’t an IU fan at all and just a pot stirrer

What coach do you think will win at IU?

Bruce Pearl runs laps around Kelvin Sampson when it comes to unethical conduct and a lack of adherence to the rules. There’s zero chance he would ever be hired by IU. Not under the current leadership and not under any future leadership. It will never happen, and it shouldn’t. He can’t and won’t commit to following the rules. That is all.

Yep, sounds like a great candidate for IU to approach .....

I agree completely, Glass should get on a plane and not come back. Period.

Yeah, but that's not a reason to not consider bringing KS back … he never should have been dismissed, he broke a BS rule, because he knew it was BS …. he white lied about it is all he did

Bruce Pearls first 3 years at Auburn.
Nice try Fedouche.

Will you list out Auburn's records for the previous 20 years. I'll save you the work... it's not pretty at all.

Bruce, unlike Crean, is a car salesman that can actually sell a lot of cars. He's won everywhere he's gone at levels way above their historical norm.

He did the same at Tennessee and they still pine for him.

Like Sampson, Bruce is not the right steward for IU....but he's a hell of a coach.

This isn’t true. He acknowledged to IU when he was interviewed and then hired that he broke rules. He promised IU he wouldn’t break them again. He broke them again. Twice. And he lied to IU about breaking them again.

He was both unethical and dishonest. He should never be permitted to return, and he wouldn’t ever be considered.

Wrong, he should be on a plane to Houston to hire Sampson back. Looking back we should’ve stuck with him and taken the sanctions.
To be honest, Glass should be fired ASAP, what a joke he’s made of IU. Very sad
Anybody we hire can’t do a worst job then him.

I'd prefer to stay away from head coaches who have assistants in federal prison due to wire fraud regarding recruits and players. That's just me.

You talk about how close you are with certain people from the program's past, but then you want a known cheat like Pearl. ESAD

The fact that some schools are willing to win even while a head assistant is on an FBI wiretap while our coach is told to honor letter of intents from a previous coach speaks volumes

Sampson get fired for texting to much(big deal). That’s why IU will never be great again.
We don’t want to play the system like all top programs.
Just be happy with the NIT, that’s are high water mark with current program, maybe every 5 or 7 years we’ll get luck and sneak into ncaa’s. Sad, but true

Pretty broad statement...you don’t think teams like Virginia, Villanova, Michigan are doing things the right way without cheating? It everyone is Kansas or Kentucky

I’m not taking about cheating, but Sampson did his time(for BS texting rule) he deserve a second chance. But IU won’t do it, they’re to dumb
Archie in 3 or 4 years maybe a great coach, but IU will fire him by then and he’ll be great somewhere else.

“In the summer of 2008, Pearl invited high school junior Aaron Craft and members of his family to a cookout at his Knoxville home while Craft was on an unofficial visit to Tennessee. At the cookout, Pearl said that Craft wasn't allowed to be there under NCAA rules, but encouraged all those in attendance not to tell anyone about it. When the NCAA began an investigation of the affair, Pearl not only lied about the cookout, but also told Craft's father to lie as well.”

So you’d rather have a coach who lies to the NCAA and encourages others to lie, too?

Win at all costs! Lie and cheat your way to the top, says peaugh!

If you can’t beat ‘em then hire a cheat?

Everyone has what the Blue Chips movie called “friends of the program”. If anyone thinks shit doesn’t happen on some level with every major program, well, I can’t help you. There were an awful lot of kids who didn’t come from well-to-do families that had pretty nice cars while RMK was here. Wealthy alumni and donors paying for shopping sprees, meals, you name it. It may not be to the extent of a federal investigation, but shit happens.

Hiring Sampson is a stain on IU's reputation that will never be removed. Only a fricking dumbass would want to bring him back.

So why are Houston and Auburn OK with employing ethically challenged coaches? I don’t see those two schools pilloried in the press, rather I see them get positive attention for WINNING. Who gives a damn what Crapitz and Doyel think.

No I would say iu’s lack of relevance is bigger stain.
You might say that, but it would be a stupid thing to say. In my opinion, of course. I mean, you may not be so stupid as you seem to be so I won't call you stupid straight up. ;)

BS rule or not, Sampson broke it twice. He lied about it both times. Sampson was banned from college coaching (I believe) for 3 years. Had IU kept him on as coach there is no telling how hard the NCAA would have come down on IU.

Big f—king deal a cookout really

The fans that don’t want Sampson back are the reason IU will never be great again

You are living proof that cocaine, meth, and heroine are hella drugs. I cannot imagine what it must be like for your wife and children to live/have lived in the same home with you? And, I cannot believe the peeps the run this site allow you to run amuck with your garbage postings here? You make this site about you, and about all your flaming and trolling. You do nothing here but post weird stuff. As I've said before, you, by yourself, are ruing this place. And, it's all a big joke to you. We all know you're not an IU fan. I was gonna pay to be become a premium member, but I will not give a dime of my money to the people that run this site when they clearly could care less about the quality of the boards you're allowed to post on.

Whaaaattttt! He got a show cause! That means if we didn’t fire him our sanctions would’ve been almost catastrophic to the point we might as well not have a basketball program. GTFOH!
