every comment is about how IU doesn't belong. we are going to end up going to Georgia or Tennesse and probably get beat those are tough ass places to play, then have to listen to his bullshit. playoffs should be at neutral sites, would love to play those teams anywhere but their home fields, F the SEC

IU can beat those teams in their places.
I don't know, I want to believe they could, but those crowds might make the OSU crowd seem very tame. the punt team killed us at OSU keep hearing the 1 big game we got smoked. take those 2 plays out and if we kept it close like Michigan did, it could have been different outcome. the large spread also cost us a home game

Take both of those plays out and the ball was still turned over to Ohio State both times. Indiana had 78 yards of offense in the final three quarters. The game was a blow-out.

So he doesn't think that IU is going to win in Knoxville, and wants Alabama to get in over us, when they already lost in Knoxville?

Am I interpreting that correct?

31-15 isn't exactly a blowout. Oh wait.

Sure, we got stomped. But without the dropped punt and then immediate punt return (which Cig blamed partly on calling coverage to the right but then kick went left) maybe we run the ball more or stop trying to hit the intermediate routes as much, so maybe don't get sacked as much.

Could have been a game. Yeah, we got stomped, doesn't mean we would again. It's a team game which includes coaching. Our coaches didn't have their best day.

Ohio st scored 2 touchdowns on special teams and punched in a meaningless touchdown at the end. yes, there defense did shut us down but falling behind also allowed them to tee off.

With Finebaum, you have to go in to listening to him, with the basic thought or notion, that he's basically directly paid by the SEC.

Its less frustrating if you think of it that way. He's basically a goober looking SEC fan boy, that tries to use his look to weave in some nerdy takes and thoughts.

Also, if you really pay attention to him, and listen to what he's saying... he often says some really, really dumb stuff. So another way to brush off his comments...if one thinks he's actually as smart as he tries to make himself look and sound...then some of the takes he has are purposeful click bait takes.

In short...SEC hack, probably says stuff he knows isn't really true for clicks, not to be taken overly seriously...

I wonder if those regular callers aren't staged.

The punt team & repeated sacs killed us at OSU.

Finebaum was clickbait in the days before there was clickbait. He is nothing but a shill for the SEC. Graduated from Tennessee. Lives in Birmingham. Runs his show from the SEC studios in Charlotte NC. He’s always been nothing but a mouthpiece for the SEC conference.
and Finebaum has an endless supply of SEC necks for entertainment.

It's total bullshit the narrative that they would've kicked our asses without the punt mishaps. Without the punting errors, it's basically the OSU - UM game. How many yards did Michigan have, or throw for? Give me a break with this nonsense. It was 7-7 with a minute left in the half. It was 10-10 last week at the half and what happened? Michigan won with 13. Easy to connect the dots.

I've tried watching Finebaum, but it bores me. I always wonder what the fuss over his show is all about? Just seems like a bunch of stuff pulled out of his @##. Like any youtuber. I guess he has sources that are insiders. But it usually seems like obvious stuff to make their fanbases happy. I guess doing that makes some sense though.

Our offense got stomped. Hard to blame the defense for 31 points.

But I would think that, if we went back in time, someone on the "Google it" coaching staff would remember that even Speedster Peyton Manning routinely ran sweeps with Edgerrin James and Joseph Addai in the NFL for crying out loud. Rourke is almost as tall as but infinitely faster than Manning, so no doubt that Rourke can run sweeps and RPOs easily.

So why didn't our coaches call more rollouts and RPO's for Rourke, instead of making him stand there like a target? It was obvious our O-line could not guarantee pass protection if Rourke was made to stand in an imaginary "pocket."

Plus, he's a far more accurate passer on his feet rolling out than he is when on his back in the pocket.

They always seem to have an easy time getting through while others have to wait. I think it's all rehearsed. Part of his shtick.
He has staffers that screen calls ahead of time. Before he talks to them he knows (from emails, texts, etc. from the staffers) exactly what they are going to say.

Honestly, the sacks seemed more demoralizing. We had, what, 5 series go 1st d, gain 4, 2nd gain 4, 3rd sack for a loss. It was akin to in Basketball having repeated good defensive stands but you give up a long long 3 with 1 second left on the shot clock. It just kills ya. The crowd reacts to big-ness of the moment and the shot and you're killed by the "almost had them" of it.

Take away the sacks and the crowd is less involved, the lines stays positive, and Rouke makes fewer misthrows. That would have compensated for the ST errors.

This is not new news.

"Sometimes when a big fish in a small pond gets stagnant in his little cove of the fishing hole, his head grows just slightly larger than its proportion. This, in a nut shell, describes the mental patient on the loose walking the streets of Birmingham that is Paul Finebaum. ....
Finebaum is a disgrace to anyone who holds a journalism degree from an unaccredited college. In simple terms, his cue ball mugshot is found next to the word “hack” in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary (Eleventh Edition). In short, six of nine of his columns basically center around the same theme: Fire (insert coach).

Well, part of this is our fault for not playing anyone worth a damn in the non conference. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything to really hang our hat on other than saying we beat a lot of average teams by a lot of points. We have no “really good” wins. Almost everyone else does.

It worked. We’re in the playoff and can prove it on the field now. Case closed.

if we played at Louisville and lost, we wouldn't be in the playoff. Mich and Wash were down, oh well

We also didn’t have any control over the fact that we had OSU, Michigan and Washington on the schedule. In the preseason, that didn’t exactly look promising playing the defending national champion, the runner up and the favorite to win the conference. Our nonconference schedule was put together a couple years in advance. We did make a mistake in dropping Louisville because we would have beat them. Otherwise, our nonconference schedule wasn’t totally out of line with some certain SEC schools this year.
