What a tired narrative. It's simple: Fife was let go because Woody's ego couldn't handle someone who actually knows college basketball.Does Lewis watch Fox News or MSNBC?

Not saying it wouldn’t.., just pointing out SD is not end all be allSame thing would have happened to ML.
Not true. He was misleading people about his future. He was talking out of turn with the likes of Dakich etc. I don’t know where you have worked but that shit wouldn’t fly anywhere I’ve worked. What a tired narrative. Slow down a little bit. Woody made the tournament twice and one of those was a play-in game against Wyoming, which was followed by a 35-point pounding by St. Mary’s in the round of 64.Coach Woodson isn't a great coach and I'm glad he is "stepping down" at the end of the season but it wasn't all bad. He took over a team that hadn't been to the tournament in over 4 years and will take them 3 out 4 years. I was in the gym for his first game against Jackson st. I was there in Jan of 2022 when Phinisee hit that big three. That will always be one of my favorite IU memories and my favorite of the Woodson era.
And Woodson left DeVries absolutely nothing..Little Arch left the program in a disastrous state, every player was in the portal. The guards were so bad they struggled to enter the ball into the post.
It was a great day when TJD decided to return to IU and play for Woodson.
Little did we know then that this would be a harbinger of things to come.Woodson's first game was a 6 point winning effort over mighty Eastern Michigan.
Woodson era wasted another 4 years in my life of IU Basketball. He’s was an awful college coach.Coach Woodson isn't a great coach and I'm glad he is "stepping down" at the end of the season but it wasn't all bad. What factual first hand knowledge do you have for what you’re saying? Not true. He was misleading people about his future. He was talking out of turn with the likes of Dakich etc. I don’t know where you have worked but that shit wouldn’t fly anywhere I’ve worked.
After remembering the first few games in the CAM era, it did have that deja vu feeling....Little did we know then that this would be a harbinger of things to come.
my bet is the truth being somewhere in the middle. Plenty of second hand reports of Fife talking politics and negative NIL feelings to think that there is some truth to it. However, both Fife and Matta gone after one year....and no real clue what Matta did while he was here (because I don't think CMW's ego had any use for him) tells me CMW probably didn't listen to much that Fife had to say either. The whole Woodson+Matta+Fife experiment smelled weird from the beginning and failed miserably in the end. Doomed from day 1.What factual first hand knowledge do you have for what you’re saying?
Fife has been honorable and kept his mouth shut. More than can be said for the Woodson Apologists.
I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone dealing with him in his current Insurance job that isn’t impressed with him. I guarantee he’s working harder than Woodson worked the last four years and he’s doing a better job than Woodson.
You’re probably right. But unfortunately any polical banner can get ugly in today’s climate.my bet is the truth being somewhere in the middle. totally agree. needs to stay off this board. The IU program has been a mess for so long, hoping next year we see a shift upwards...last thing needed is to inject politicsYou’re probably right. But unfortunately any polical banner can get ugly in today’s climate.
It was another wasted 4 years just like archie. The program he left was in no better spot than before he can. A complete joke of a hire but at least woodson made millions for himself.Woodson era wasted another 4 years in my life of IU Basketball. He’s was an awful college coach.
He was 315-365 in the NBA. Horrible coach, Buckner and BOT were idiots for forcing his hire.

Well...again...Coach Woodson isn't a great coach and I'm glad he is "stepping down" at the end of the season but it wasn't all bad. And who would that be? McCollum? We didn't hire him.But let's hire a guy with one year of d1 experiences after this bs.
