Not true. He was misleading people about his future. He was talking out of turn with the likes of Dakich etc. I don’t know where you have worked but that shit wouldn’t fly anywhere I’ve worked.
Slow down a little bit. Woody made the tournament twice and one of those was a play-in game against Wyoming, which was followed by a 35-point pounding by St. Mary’s in the round of 64.
Little did we know then that this would be a harbinger of things to come.
overall favorite win was the first big home win vs #1 PU, plus the Shifino road win. then the follow up win again vs #1 PU.
Outside of that, I enjoyed the 2023 home win vs MSU, the home OSU win in 2024 and the Maryland win away, I think '24.

Woodson era wasted another 4 years in my life of IU Basketball. He’s was an awful college coach.
He was 315-365 in the NBA. Horrible coach, Buckner and BOT were idiots for forcing his hire.

Fife has been honorable and kept his mouth shut. More than can be said for the Woodson Apologists.
I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone dealing with him in his current Insurance job that isn’t impressed with him. I guarantee he’s working harder than Woodson worked the last four years and he’s doing a better job than Woodson.
After remembering the first few games in the CAM era, it did have that deja vu feeling....
my bet is the truth being somewhere in the middle. Plenty of second hand reports of Fife talking politics and negative NIL feelings to think that there is some truth to it. However, both Fife and Matta gone after one year....and no real clue what Matta did while he was here (because I don't think CMW's ego had any use for him) tells me CMW probably didn't listen to much that Fife had to say either. The whole Woodson+Matta+Fife experiment smelled weird from the beginning and failed miserably in the end. Doomed from day 1.
