I found this article interesting and in some ways, appalling, that this kind of money is being thrown around in college athletics, yet the athletic departments talk about not being able to provide more $ for student-athletes (I'm not a 'pay the players' proponent, btw...but cost of attendance was a long time coming).

There seems to be a lot of 'fat' in college athletics. Many of you will use this to argue we don't take football seriously enough because we don't pay at these levels. While that may be true, I'm not sure, as someone who prides himself on fiscal responsibility, that that is such a bad thing in the bigger picture of life.
Oh well.....have at it. I imagine it'll spark some conversation....and may be related to Mark Hill's departure.
