A fairly partisan take this week on the Trump tariffs and corruption. He’s often more balanced in his take, but this week the gloves are off.

As a fan of Fareed I found it interesting that during Bill Maher’s monologue this week he gave credit to Fareed’s editorials. Btw, if you haven’t listened to this weeks monologue from Bill it’s a much watch.

Found Zakaria's take and show to be disturbing.

Disturbing in that the Republican party, which for so many years warned us against big government, now has a leader wanting to pick the winners and losers of both global and intra national trade.

Hoping Zakaria's warnings aren't on the mark. Certainly debatable, but worth considering.

I'm not in a position to watch videos but my opinion is that America is a cesspool of corruption. The current regime is likely to be the most corrupt in American history starting with the infamous Trump coin pump and dump. Unfortunately, its cross party. The amount of pork in the inflation acceleration and chips acts could fill 1 billion Olympic sized pools. And then you look at whatever random boards Hunter Biden was on for his "expertise" or the prolific profitable stock trading across Congress. We are on a very dangerous path without a course correction in sight. And that course correction may require some ugly choices.

Toasty, don't forget the pork, to which you referred, isn"t just a federal government phenomenon.

On the state and local level political donors and lobbies are benefiting from their "donations" and kick backs which more than offset their "donations".

Put donations in quotes as they actually come closer to being bribes.

Just another reason I wish there was a third party option......and yet I still can't guarantee it won't be as filthy as the dems/pubs.

Thank God the Republican SCOTUS majority is is doing its part to eliminate bribery and corruption:

The GOP Majority knows all about it. Just make sure your future bribery checks are delivered after the public official has done what he agreed to do.

It's a strong take, but I don't find it partisan. He's not coming at it from a Dem or TDS position, I don't think. I think that video is a must watch.

This is more proof that there is no national emergency right now and that Congress should act, when it can, to severely curtail Presidential discretion with tariffs.

Wow, I came for an Orgy thread, and found all of the usual suspects, together, Toobinnam style .
This is a new Dem Marketing ploy fail!

As someone who has historically voted dem, don't think I don't have concerns about the party I'm registered for or think I'm naive enough to think they're not dirty too. This is an issue that crosses party lines. It just happens Fareed is editorializing the current administration. Did you actually watch the video? To consider this a dem marketing ploy is very naive and closed minded.

Ok, you seem to have a total red ass for me lately. Totally glossed over the Orgy and Toobin fun.

If you have, some how, gotten the impression that I am totally one sided. Allow me to correct you.
But simply the Dem's are much easier to make fun of at this moment in time. I mean,, TOOBIN and Orgy in the same post for God's sake! hahaha

Oh I'm all about orgy talk on the AOTF, I'm just not skilled enough to combine work and play. :). Dems are def easy targets, we take ourselves way to seriously. Toobin is a black eye on America and all of media. I would have much preferred the baby bombing interviews.

I'd post some orgy pics on the AOTF.....but that damn nipple rule.

So this is an orgy thread now? Cool.

Most countries now understand that the various economic 'rationales' offered by Trump’s advisers are just window-dressing. Its fairly obvious that it's a platform for corruption.

What Trump is doing is displaying dominance and extracting submission. Countries that do not actively resist his tariffs will be graciously granted 'reprieves' ;) from the higher rates.

The country that dared to defy him was savagely punished.

But what I like about Trump is that he is just taking it to the next level. The whole system is rigged to start with. He has peeled over that veil in a biggiely way.

Otherwise, why so much anger in the country (IMO due to the lack of improvements in the voters' lives) -- and then only wanting the wrathful politician to return?
