Fan Nation - Gabe Cupps, Bronny James Match Up on ESPN Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET

For sure. Then hammering on some Pappasitos...
Gotta be Pappadeauxs instead of Pappasitos.

Lebron has said he's going to give a sweetheart free agent deal to any team that drafts Bronny. That's basically a 100% guarantee that he gets drafted. Ignore the broilee who doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground.

when did LeBron say he would give a sweetheart deal, I've never seen that, he just said he wants to play with him is what I've seen, I would be offended if I was bonny and he said what you implied.

Here ya go, Otis.

“My last year will be with my son. Wherever Bronny’s at, that’s where I’ll be,” LeBron told The Athletic on Saturday. “I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

There's a reason his last extension was only for 2 years.

Either or...would be difficult to resist either in the state that Cav would be in.

Good point. I wouldn't turn down either one.

My fave tex-mex is in Ft. Worth at the stockyards though, Joe T. Garcia's. It might be the atmosphere as much as it's the food.

Otis, that made me laugh, you were right I guess

Reed Shepard was the most impressive player that game. Dude can shoot, handle, pass, and play D.

Cupps played his role but I’d like to see him shoot more, considering everyone had the green light to throw up a 3 at any point.
I understand what you're saying, but he's a PG and he had 2-3 teammates that were "on" so he got them the ball. Hard to criticize a guy when they beat a team loaded with 4-5 star players in the tournament championship by double digits and really had them in check all game long. Go watch highlights of his earlier game with Bronny and I think he scored around 21-25 and still dished out a ton of assists. I think he can shoot and score when he needs to.

If Bronny had interest in Duke, UNC, IU, or any other college he would have an offer. He is LeBron James son, he could suck at bball, if his dad wants to play with him in the NBA he will get drafted. Hell, if I was the Knicks I would legit take him as a top 5 pick if I had it.
Maybe 5 years ago this would have some truth. Now it’s just silly.

do you know how bad the Knicks are, and how starved that market is for bball? Billions of dollars in increased revenue if he went to the Knicks next year.

Disagree with this assessment. He plays as part of the team. He stayed in from of his man on the defensive side of the ball and was the only player to take a charge in the game.

He isn’t blazing fast or super athletic, but he sure as shit isn’t “slow”. He can also shoot the rock. Looked pretty good to me and the type of player that will really start to contribute his 2nd or 3rd year. Other teams will hate him.
Watched the entire game, kid can flat out lead a team. Very happy he’s a Hoosier

James has D1 talent, supposedly Hes going to the g league if he is in fact lacking offers that would be why. Cupps is a solid player he is no Yogi Ferrel by any stretch. His dad is a helluva coach they controlled a team that was way more talented. Cupps is a typical coach's son , he plays smart and lets the game come to him didn't force anything. I see him as a solid backup point guard for us. size and athleticism imo will keep him from ever going beyond that.
I suspect a lot of folks said the same thing about Jordan Hulls, and Cupps plays much better defense than Jordan ever did. You just don't know. Keegan Bradley was 336 in the nation. He turned out pretty well don't you think? Give the kid a chance to play before you establish a ceiling. He looks like a really good floor general who will rarely make mistakes that cost you points on defense, throw dumb passes resulting in turnovers and has the ability, which will only improve over time, of making a key outside shot when the team needs it.

If the guy can't ball at that level how does that help the Knicks? Lebron is a jerk a lot of the time and a whiner. Maybe his kid is entitled and the same way, without the great talent, which he doesn't really look like he has.

LeBron would play his last few years with the Knicks, alongside his son. If they made the playoffs and won a series that would be the best thing that has happened in 20 years.

He was in complete control of the game from the start. He was the obvious Alpha/Point guard, on a team that dismantled a team that had 6 top 80 kids on its roster.

And per kurt's comment about him being slow...he didn't have any issues getting around, and keeping in front of, Dillingham...a highly rated, very quick and athletic PG going to Kentucky. He's plenty fast enough.

Depending on who comes back, I wouldn't be shocked, at all, if he's our starting PG day 1 as a frosh. If JHS is back, maybe backing him up, maybe playing alongside him.
I thought he even made Dillingham look not so good.

I just went to the Varsity shop across from the sample gates. My buddy and his wife are in town. The merch is the worst thing I have ever seen, Adidas is godawful. I would kill for Jordan brand or nike.
Same. I bought two of the same IU adidas hats on my last trip to Btown around a year ago. Both are barely holding up so I had to switch to my basic green Nike hat. Even my Titleist IU hat lasted a few years.

I’ll be back in September to buy a few more because I love reppin IU out West and making random IU connections.

Edit: I planned on coming a football weekend but hotel prices are like $400-500 a night. Like we’re playing scrubs those weekends. Wtf.

Rivals has bronny as a top 60 player, yet he only has 1 low level offer. Appears to be highly over ranked(for obvious reasons). Will be interesting to see what college he goes to if he doesn't choose g league. Hard to imagine he ever ends up in the NBA as I believe he only averages a handful of points for his sierra canyon team. Will honestly be surprised if he ends up anything more than a role player type guy at the college level.
Reminds me of Jordan's kids. No way is he anything special.

From what I’ve heard, his recruiting and offers are being kept private for obvious reasons. I think he’s better than Jordan’s kids but not seeing nba skill. Big names I’ve heard in the mix are OSU and UCLA.

I got an upstairs with a queen bed in a room. And another empty one… 300 a night.

Do you really imagine that any intelligent collegiate coaching staff wants the baggage/distraction of accomodating someone who can't carry their weight? No way. As for the top 5 biz, you don't know NYC if you imagine they'd long put up with anyone who sucked - short honeymoons in the Big Apple.

Ya College wouldn't really profit as much, unless it was like a Maryland, LOU kinda school. Can get big fan support, dollars, and would profit off Bronny even if they sucked.

For NYC LeBron James coming to them would be life changing. THEY SUCK. Porzing, Mello, and a season of false hope with Randle is really about it since Ewing. That's nuts.

Last few years? We’re in year 1 or 2 of his last few years. Lakers are trash, and he’s the GM. The NBA is over the Lebron era thankfully. Did you watch the Lakers this year lol? Darvin Ham?

Now we just get to hear him spout nonsense.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they got rid of Westbrook and got kyrie. The nba desperately wants Lebron to be relevant. He is pretty good for 37 I’ll give him that for sure. He’s just not close to MJ. Prob has number 2 locked up tho. Much more debate about who is number two, than him and MJ

Yeah. It seemed clear he wasn’t being asked to score. He looked for his shot maybe 2-3 times. Held off on one and pushed for one and drilled the deep 3. It seems he could be a solid scorer if he were asked to do so. Could become a really good PG

if Anthony Leal played in that game at the same time in his career, he would have looked like reed Sheppard, you all are missing the point

He would need to be the best player to ever play to offset the interference daddy will cause. LeBron might want a coach like Woodson or Juwan Howard to coach his kid. Woodson would be strong enough to ignore LeBron, but angry tweets when his son doesn't start would be bad for the team.

I don't think so, LeBron is probably realistic

Michael Lewis most overrated player in the history of iu basketball, he got stats on bad teams would have never seen the floor in the glory days
Yeah, anybody could have become the all time IU assists leader in his 4 years. Most over rated? Really? Not even in the running for the title. He must have stolen your girlfriend or kicked sand in your face at some point.

I can’t figure out why anyone would put him ahead of Kobe let alone MJ.

I would love to see a lebron - irving soap opera unravel.

Man, a little harsh.

OTOH, I see you point related to bad teams, at least compared to “the glory years”.

In the same manner I feel that every player in the past 20 years or so is overrated. Pretty difficult to think that a player for IU wasn’t terrible if they couldn’t even make the tourney for each of their four years, like players during those “bad” Knight years.

I’m being serious: Yogi, Hulls, etc. didn’t they just get stats on bad teams? would they even have sniffed the floor on those Lewis teams??

edit:

Lewis played for Coach Knight 1996-2000. For a little perspective on how “bad” those teams were:

note: none of those years ended like I wanted them to. Yes, they were very much down for RMKs standards, but they consistently won 20 games and were top 20 (often top 10) teams at least during parts of those seasons. Those certainly weren’t IU’s glory years, unless you became a fan in the last 20 years.
