  • New Premium Seating/Hospitality Options: In addition to two new suites in the press box, the Henke Hall of Champions will also add a new season ticket fan amenity through a "club" experience, including theatre-style outdoor seating and inside access to all-inclusive food and beverage, big screen TVs and the like. The Tobias Nutrition Center, meanwhile, will serve as a new and improved gameday hospitality area for Hoosier Hundred and above Varsity Club members, similar to how the Hoosier Room had been utilized in the past.

  • Capacity: It was a goal of the Excellence Academy and Improved Accessibility projects to be roughly capacity neutral which was attained with a new official Memorial Stadium capacity of 52,656, a less than 0.6% change from the previous capacity of 52,929.

  • The Terry Tallen Indiana Football Complex: With construction soon to start and opening next fall, this 25,000 square foot, multi-million dollar football-only renovation located in Memorial Stadium will include a dramatically enhanced Trent and Julie Green Locker Room and Dr. John N. Miller training room as well as a new team lounge/recruiting area, coaches locker room, and enhanced equipment room.
  • Football Team Room Renovation: To be completed before this year's home opener, the Football Team Room will be completely renovated including state-of-the-art seating, new carpeting and other amenities.

  • New Memorial Stadium Command Center: To help facilitate football gameday management of traffic and parking, as well as other public safety issues, a new and improved Memorial Stadium Command Center has been built out on the 7thFloor of the press box. In addition to IU Athletics staff, representatives from IU Emergency Management, IUPD, IU Health and ESG Security, among others, will be working out of the Command Center.

  • Branding: Consistent with the new IU Athletics Brand and Uniform Guidelines to be unveiled this fall, new color, graphics, and banners are being installed at Memorial Stadium, inside and out.
  • Knothole Park at Sample Terrace presented by Aggressively Organic: The next iteration of the Knothole Park Legacy, this open-to-all venue located atop the Excellence Academy will be a key feature of our family friendly football Saturdays, including Chocolate Moose ice cream provided for free by IU Athletics for 12-and-under "Knothole Club" members, as well as a 3-D selfie station, mini-quarterback throwing game, mini-field goal kicking game, IU face painting booth, and stadium concessions.

On the way home and Glass was on the Kent Sterling show and it was a good interview. He said they new helmets for very player which he said the players think they are the best helmet on the market for safety. He said they spent over $130,000 on the new helmets because it will help with the safety of the players.

I know some people have their minds made up about him and will never give him a chance but I think Glass has done a great job. Everyone on here is different and has a different point of view but I would think we all have the same goal and wants us to win. What is different and we are all different is what we think it takes to get to that goal. Some will see or hear something and see the positive and other people will see the negative.

Hey man, don't let facts get in the way of idiots spouting about not spending on facilities.

Hey man, don't let facts get in the way of idiots spouting about not spending on facilities.
For the people who think the facility should just be for football will be disappointed because Glass said he thinks it is a benefit to have the weight room with many sports. He said the players talk about how they like working out with other sports and think it allows them not to be isolated from the other sports. He said we have never lost a recruit do to facilities and that he feels like after everything is done we will not be behind many when it comes to facilities.

Please. Fred won’t even give the football team their own rehab facilities. If segregating the sports is such a bad idea, why does basketball have its own practice facility and weight room?

It must really sad being so pessimistic all the time and being negative. Should just call some of you Eeyore with that cloud that just hangs over your head all time. So what is it that you would do if you were the AD to get IU to the top of the big ten. If you think it is just about facilities then you will probably disappoint in your job. To me the reason we have not won is that the fans don't show up and recruits see the stadium half empty doesn't make the recruits say that is a great place to play. The stadium is fine and the facilities is just fine but until you fill that stadium we will never win.

I'm sure just the mere title of this thread gave you a hard-on - - another exciting opportunity to trash the AD, the facilities, the program, etc.

So apparently FG doesn’t think it would also be a “benefit” for the basketball team to work out with other teams ?? Give me a break, what a load. Before anyone says I just don’t like FG, that is not true, met him on multiple occasions , like him. I do think he “wants” to have a winning football team, and I’ve always supported him, but I’m beginning to believe he just doesn’t know how to achieve that goal.

Why don't you let the season play out a bit before continuing with this gloom and doom narrative.

He should ask recruits, their parents and coaches, including some of his own, what they think. He’d hear a very different viewpoint from some of them, especially if they’re looking at other Big 10 schools.

I can't believe you really think he doesn't want a winning program because he has spent millions of dollars and has done a lot more for the football program than the other Ad's has done.

What are you trying to accomplish? And why? Do you not acknowledge that parents send their kids to Indiana to get an education?

Perhaps the responsible parents are asking questions about things like tutors and study halls. How about crazy things like academics advisors and academic workloads. Are they going to be able to actually pursue an education or are they going to be funneled into a basket weaving program.

Umm, I think I said I believe he “”wants” a winning football program, please reread my post.

Other AD’s didn’t have the BTN money. It’s not that hard to spend these days. Every school is doing it. Except other schools are spending more.

Why is it gloom and doom, because I don’t necessarily believe in the 24/1 philosophy ? I will be front and center Saturday night watching and I will make the 7 hour round trip drive for every home game like I do every year. I hope like hell we “breakthrough”, but I don’t like being told football players need to ,and LIKE ,working out with other sports, yet the basketball team doesn’t seem to have to live under the same circumstances. Again, PERCEPTION.

The basketball teams use multiple parts of Memorial Stadium, including the rehab facilities, academic center, counseling services, weight room (and yes I’m aware they have their own) and practice fields. The football team doesn’t really use Cook Hall because you can’t fit 115 guys in there.

This is getting asinine.

We aren’t building a new weight room anytime soon so it’s pointless to even discuss it.

It’s only asinine if you don’t feel football needs every possible advantage it can get. So great, the basketball team has their own facility plus using everything the football team has access to, now I feel better. Again it is about “perception”, if you don’t feel basketball having its own facility , while football does not, doesn’t add to the thought of IU caring more about B-ball, then we can just disagree. But that doesn’t make my viewpoint asinine.

I’d like IU to build a winning football and recognize that doing what they’ve always done won’t likely change the result.

As for parents and recruits being interested and engaged regarding their education, of course I support that, but that’s hardly unique to IU. Do you believe that only IU is emphasizing those aspects of the University, and that other Big 10 schools are not? That elite schools with higher admissions standards than IU, like NU, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan, don’t emphasize academics, not to mention other conference schools? You would be badly mistaken if you hold such beliefs.

Where does the basketball team practice? Hence a weightroom in Cook Hall efficiency. Where does the football team practice ... the practice fields which have a tunnel leading to Memorial Stadium or they practice at Mellencamp Pavilion alsoconnected to Memorial Stadium or they practice in Memoroal Stadium where the weight room is and the new training facility and the Nutrition center is. Not in yet another building in which they would still have to travel to. To my knowledge there is no cafe in Cook Hall so apparently FG does not care basketball because they have to leave Cook Hall and eat with the lowly football team

These prima donnas need to learn the meaning of sacrifice.
Look I can sit there and say that people are bad mouthing the facility but I don’t think there are too many college age men that are complaining about seeing these young ladies in the weightroom, training room and dining hall. If so I have to question who are we recruiting.I understand the young ladies parents being upset mayb

Back in the mid 70s the only women-only dorm was Forrest. Everyone called it The Nunnery. Are there still women-only dorms at IUB?
