What motivates me to work? Taking business away from my former employer.
I was at a local office equipment dealership and planned to remain there the rest of my career. However, it was acquired by a large dealer from another state in August, 2020 and the new owners let me go about four months later even though I was approximately $90,000 over quota during those four months.
After staying out of the copier and printer industry for a year because of my non-compete contract, I joined an even greater company than the one I planned to remain at for the rest of my career. I have been there for over a year now and upper management allows me to do things my own way. In other words, I work out of my home, we don't have a lot of meetings and I don't have to submit a bunch of reports.
In a little over 12 months, I have replaced 16 of my former employer's machines. It makes me look forward to going to work every day because I am a competitive individual.
