That's like Stephen Hilbert's mansion in Carmel. Spent $35m to build it. Conseco tried to sell it for 5 years, Forrest Lucas ended up buying it for $3m. Holding/maintenance cost on the place were estimated at $100k/mo

A fraternity brother of mine who did some work for Hilbert invited me to a pool party at the Hilbert mansion. Don't think Hilbert was going to be attending.

After hearing about the security precautions involved, I declined the invitation. Besides that, didn't want to buy a swimsuit suitable for such an occasion.

Hilbert bought our company (and a few others) after he was forced out of Conseco. After we came on board as part of the integration process, he invited all of us to the house and gave us a tour. Nucking Futs.

The guard shack out front was 1600 sq ft. The larger pool house was the size of the house I was living in at the time.
