I don’t think it’s necessarily as much medicine as administration, logistics, infrastructure, business, insurance, and medicine. It’s an area desperately in need of reform that by way of example a Bezos type mind would be good for I think

Covid was a hoax. Not even debatable. Only a reverse conspiracy theory alarmist would type on a message board that it wasn't a complete hoax and the world is now admitting it. You just can't stop losing.

What’s to defend? The job is pretty much entirely ministerial and the head has no policy authority.
That said, the appointment could signal an aggressive fraud investigation and prevention posture. Medicare and Medicaid is notorious for fraudulent claims. Oz might be uniquely qualified to deal with that given his medical and business background.
