Is this new ball the official ball of the tournament? If so, anyone know if there's somewhere that shows which schools played with the Wilson ball this season?

A ball is a ball just put it through the hoop!
yep... not like we haven't been pretty crappy shooters with other balls! I do think they should standardize on one for the tournament, if not for all NCAA teams for a season, but both teams are playing with the same ball. Don't bitch, get used to it and adjust quicker than the other team. Make it an advantage.

Maybe when it comes to shooting, the field will be level

NBA tried that crap. Remember how long that lasted. Regardless of our shooting ineptitude, it is not a good idea to change the ball at this time. Should have done it at the beginning of the season. Maybe it will be no big deal, but we shall see.

Looked like, as Cuban said, a 4.99 Walmart special.

i got a $4.99 Walmart special a couple yrs ago.

fabulous ball, so good i went back and got a 2nd one as a gift.

they are Wilsons, but much better looking than that ball last night.

replacements for the $4.99 Walmart special ball i probably had for 10 yrs prior and wore out. (Spalding NBA, also liked, but not as much as the new ones).

rubber since they are outdoors, but really nice rubber balls.

i never took to the synthetic leather ball, so strictly a leather indoors, rubber outdoors, guy.

i also don't like any gold colored decoration on balls, as the gold part always seems slicker than the rest of the ball. (i'm like the McNutt of basketballs).

i'm ancient and can barely walk, but still like to shoot hoops.

i've noticed that light orange colored ball being used several times this yr in the B10 games.

not ascetically pleasing at all imo, but i suppose that's strictly subjective.

and yes, like a golf grip, how a bball or fball feels in your hands absolutely makes a difference, and not all bballs feel the same.

Back in the day (early 1970's) Wilson made a great outdoor ABA ball. Terrific grip and lasted forever. Incredible "english" off the backboard.

We played mostly on an asphalt court behind the neighborhood school. After an afternoon of hoops, the white on the ball would be nearly black, but a spin in the bathtub (which would send my mom into a fit) and it looked brand new.

We wore one out every year, and I usually got a new one for my birthday late in the summer. My dad played a lot of ball with us, so he knew exactly the model we had to have.

there were some nice rubber ABA balls as you mentioned.

never liked the official leather ABA balls, because they were slicker than the tan balls.
