We talk alot of smack because of course he is a purdue fan but cmon man the dude really doesn't cross any lines. I cross the line all the time towards purdue fans because this is an Indiana board and I play the home card. BUT boiler1987 needs to be re-instated. The guy is a regular on here and belongs. He takes his lumps and moves along. EZRider please re-instate the guy.

In my experience, it takes a LOT to cross the line here . . . So, maybe he deserved to go to the penalty box.

I agree that guy is the worst. boiler1987 was along timer though and I can see as mobile said that sometimes we get thin skin. I know I do but just blast those guys because they are on here posting. Anyways he asked me to put in a good word for him so I honored his wish. AND I have probably been the harshest towards him

Years ago, when it was Peegs, Ordfan got away with whatever he wanted to on here. He would BS and make claims and act like he was Mr. Inside. When challenged, he never delivered. I got banned several times for arguing with him - but he never was censored at all.

Now, under a new regime, his true colors have been exposed.

I'm still here, Ordfan. And you're not. Chew on that a while.

IIRC, he DEFINITELY crossed the line on the basketball board. Implying that Romeo was bought and paid for referring to the Post article. He made several comments.

If that wasn't him then I apologize. If it was him, NEVER let him back.

Exactly, wolf in sheeps clothing, his latest over there is he thinks it is “funny that IU people think they have a shot at Bell”. He just released his top 5 and we are in it, but for some reason he believes he knows more. Now, I don’t believe for one second we are at the top of that list, but this clown also picked Kirtz to PU a while back as his choice for their next commit. It came down to IU and NU, enough said.
BTW, who knows if he actually ends up trying to play Bball in college as football is clearly his future, but Bell is apparently still communicating with both the football and basketball staffs.

Seems strange, they might want to clean up there own house before complaining about ours. I’ve seen similar comments from him over there.
That was my only reason for even going over there,and sure enough he was bashing away.

They are notorious for banning posters for completely benign posts. Rupp’s Rafters is much the same. Both are comedic cesspools.

Funny that you mentioned Romeo, I was browsing their b-ball site the night Romeo committed for entertainment, and an IU guy who posts occasionally had made a benign post. Our poster went by the screen name “Tegray”, and boiler87 made some comment like “what happened to your boy in the Bucket game, Jones ran all over him” , not exact words, but you get the point. He’s a real tough guy over there and then tries to come here and act like he’s reasonable.

Boilers is two faced and passive aggressive, but he is really easy and fun to screw around with (as are most PU fans). Just pick out their insecurities (especially on the basketball side, calling them little brother, Painter will never make a FF, and what not) and screw with them. For example, Brohms will eventually use PU as a stepping stone and leave for greener pastures, probably Louisville once they get their house in order. I posted a little while ago that Brohms had accepted the Tennessee job when it was open: I had no idea whether he had or not, and Boilers lost his mind and continuously made posts directed to me about this post.

I would rather Boilers and other PU fans be around when Brohms leaves and Archie's tenure continues. PU fans lost their minds when Romeo committed, and there is only going to be more of the same.

Seems pretty awkward to me to be discussing something with other IU fans and then some PU person inserts themselves into the conversation. It's basic social etiquette not to do that.

To come on our site and be negative or talk trash is downright rude. I say ban 'em all if they do that.

I agree. They are "guests" in our house and they should act like guests. When someone is a guest in someone else's house . . . they should not get in the middle of a family discussion or argument.

It always amused me how Rivals was set up so rivals could talk smack with rivals on a Rivals series of Rivals messages boards, but some of the Rivals message boards get butt hurt when rivals talk rivals-smack on Rivals boards.

So long as there is some respect, I have no problem with Purdue fans on here.

I have a lot more problem with IU fans bashing IU than I do Purdue fans bashing IU.

87 is annoying just for the fact that anytime Purdue or Brohm is mentioned he is on within seconds to rebut. He either has some super search setup or he is constantly scanning the board. All that aside, I don't mind it that much as long as the same courtesy is extended on GBI which we all know is not the case.

I'm happy with the increased mod involvement. The board has been more readable - - and enjoyable - - than at any time since I signed on almost two years ago. I don't miss that one poster (the guy with a dozen user names) blowing up every thread with his incendiary comments, and I don't miss the constant trolling by a few others. Sure, things have been kind of bland, but that's mostly a function of the time of year. There will be plenty of disagreement and dissent among IU fans once the season begins, along with comments of fans from opposing teams in the days leading up to a particular game.

Thanks for the spring cleaning, mods.

Boiler 1987 is a diehard Purdue fan but he does respects IU. Both his parents went there. We can hate IU but still have respect and recognize them as a good program

I don't think he's banned, more likely blacklisted (or penalty box) meaning he can visit but not comment. Anyway, I've never had any direct interaction with 1987 but from what I've seen he's a very reasonable poster. A lot of their fans have similar usernames and can be a bit confusing to distinguish at times, but he's decent in my opinion. I don't have the hate of Purdue like some do. I know they are our rival, but as adults we shouldn't keep this forum like a country club. My level of dislike and vitriol is more geared toward Kentucky. Hopefully one day we play them again in both sports.
