Won’t be us. TJD = no spot. Woodson won’t take a chance. Woody also isn’t forcing things unlike previous coaches. No Creaning after the deadline.
Agree. I cannot see him bringing enough to the team to take the chance. Nor is he worth pushing out anyone on the current roster.
We would take him if he wanted to come regardless of TJD coming back or not, which we still don't know.
This is a Dennis decision, not a IU decision.
Maybe. If we had a spot, I'd go for another freshman for the long term, if there is such a thing nowadays.
You don't have to be but everything out there says we would take him and he's not choosing us.
Again, we don't even know what TJD is doing and this staff would absolutely oversign. They wanted both Sean McNeil and Dennis. They know they need a talent upgrade and are willing to do it.
Honestly, most freshman aren't long term. They're either starting right away because their good and then likely leaving early or moving on for lack of PT.
Man I’m just not convinced he would use it. I’ve heard both sides of this. I was with you on the oversign a month ago. I’m not now. Just my thoughts.
That was before the deadline. I think Woody isn’t going to force a guy out after. Just doesn’t seem like it anyway. Now before the transfer deadline is a different story. Of course I’m putting this together from bits and pieces. This is my opinion.
I would bet that Woodson knows what TJD is doing, or at least has a strong gut feeling. He's only a year out of the NBA, he still has deep contacts and knows which way the winds are blowing.
Maybe. We don't know. It's a new era and NIL will partly dictate what frosh do. IU has Bates and Duncomb stay, so there is hope.

How are two wings a contingency plan for a center? No, he was more than willing to oversign. He would do whatever is necessary to put the best team on the floor. As he should.
I wouldn’t be surprised if TJD comes back and we still look to add other players coming out of the NBA draft process.
Maybe they decided they would just get the best player available and go with a smaller lineup.

Whoever left because we oversigned would get a waiver to play right away because it was no fault of their own that their spot was taken.
This is a NCAA rule.

There are a few teams that want TJD to work out for them.
All it takes is one team to like TJD enough that he stays in the draft, example, George Hill.
The decision hasn't been made, especially since the combine hasn't even taken place yet.
It is assumed TJD will be back unless someone promises him a 1st round pick basically at the combine.
a few nba teams???? That is not true. Unless you mean they would like to have the opportunity for him to work out without wasting a draft pick (specifically a late first round pick on him). Zero teams have wanted or suggested that. Could change at the combine. I doubt it.
That’s not a guarantee at all. I don’t think Woodson is a shell game type. Waivers do get handed out but we’ve seen in the past how tricky and inconsistent the NCAA is. You notice how quiet the transfer recruiting has gotten? I don’t believe that’s a coincidence. You can’t tell me if woody wants an upgrade he wouldn’t be looking at others. Roster is set. You won’t convince me otherwise.
It was reported on Peegs (who have direct contacts) that the staff was more than willing to oversign even if it meant pushing someone (or multiple players) out. They wanted both Dennis and McNeil. So stfu.
There are at least 3 teams that want to bring him in for a workout. That doesn’t mean they plan to draft him at the end of the first round.
NCAA has always granted waivers for players who were forced out. It’s their “run-off” policy.

Because it’s not set? I think he will be back too, but it’s not a sure thing yet.
I still think IU may try to get a wing if the opportunity presents itself after the early entry shuffle.

I disagree. I think woody is done unless TJD by some crazy development isn’t back. I just don’t think he’s the type forcing people out like that. I get the March - May timeframe. I also think he’s not going to use the portal much. He was forced to in both instances.
I guess it is a matter if he meant workout or work out. 2 entirely different things.
