DeSantis stock goes up

Always fun when an attorney politician commits a felony for a political stunt. What a great Christian.

IC 35-42-3-2 Kidnapping

(a) A person who knowingly or intentionally removes another person, by fraud, enticement, force, or threat of force, from one place to another commits kidnapping. Except as provided in subsection (b), the offense of kidnapping is a Level 6 felony.

(b) The offense described in subsection (a) is:

(1) a Level 5 felony if:

(A) the person removed is less than fourteen (14) years of age and is not the removing person's child;

(B) it is committed by using a vehicle; or

(C) it results in bodily injury to a person other friends than the removing person;

(2) a Level 4 felony if it results in moderate bodily injury to a person other than the removing person;
He didn’t commit a felony.

The co-equal point of this thread is the dishonesty imbedded in the heart of elite white Democrats. DeSantis easily exposed the unwillingness of Martha’s Vinyard residents to even pretend to live up to their own arrogant smugness.
No he didn’t. I realize that was the goal but since it didn’t happen, you need to claim it did anyway.

Isn’t Venezuela what the liberal democrats want for the US? Democratic Socialism worked really well for Venezuelans. Now they feel oppressed and are flowing through our secure borders.
Stoll, you bring up a good question.

A question dealt with in the book Lessons From Venezuela. The book is predicated on the notion America, especially liberal Democrats, want to take us down the road to socialism.

My question is whether this a strong possibility or just a notion suggested by Republicans as a political strategy. This fear is hardly new as I was in complete agreement that it was a strong possibility after reading the 1949 John T. Flynn book (The Road Ahead: America's Creeping Revolution). It was about FDR and the New Deal starting America on the path to socialism

My thinking has changed since 1949.

Today, I feel America is the most capitalist country in the world and will remain this way. Granted our capitalism is regulated by government in our mixed economy to protect the interests of consumers and workers. Nevertheless, IMO, capitalism is about ownership. I just don't see government taking over the ownership of property now in the hands of the private sector.

lol…I was trying to get some free money from you.
The only joke is DeSantis. If he beats the rap, then he should be really proud about that. Also, unethical behavior as an attorney: should have his law license yanked or suspended.

By the way: his ancestors were Italian immigrants! If only there were a DeSantis equivalent back then......

Oh please. You’re being a partisan hack.
There is 0% chance he gets convicted of a felony or has his law license suspended.
Still a criminal, and he should absolutely have his law license suspended or yanked for unethical behavior.

Also, terrible Christian, and, according to him, his ancestors should have stayed in Italy. It's not too late to return to Italy, Ron: I'll chip in for a plane ticket! I hear they have good jobs and excellent housing over there.

No, he’s not a criminal. You’re lying. Maybe try living in reality?

He isn’t getting convicted of anything and we can wager on it, if you like. The reality is it’s just whiny liberals like jimbo blowing off because their feelings are hurt. He didn’t kidnap anyone or commit any crimes.
If you steal my wallet and don't get convicted, you are still a criminal. We will see what the legal system does with DeSantis for his kidnapping.

Why do you think the facts don't fit the criminal statue Jimbo referenced?

lol…if you really think it’s kidnapping, you’re an idiot. How about this wager. If he is convicted of kidnapping I’ll never post again back here. If he isn’t convicted of kidnapping, you admit you’re dumbass? Deal?
You added to your argument totally lacking evidence with some name calling: well played.

I’ll make my case. Desantis didn’t commit any felonies and will not be convicted of any. The wager applies to you as well or name your terms?

I could say the sky is green and the grass is blue: what is my evidence?
You claimed he committed a felony. I said he didn’t and the courts will be the judge of it. We can wager whatever you want. You’re the lawyer not me. This should be an easy bet for you if your telling the truth.

What wager? I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying you need to back up your claim. Jimbo backed his up with statutory language. Bring something better than "Nuh-uh!"
I did. Jimbo claimed he committed a felony. I claimed he didn’t. I backed it by saying I’ll wager he doesn’t get convicted of a felony and offered you the same.

You are saying DeSantis didn't knowingly or intentionally remove people, including children, from one place (not even in Florida!) to another (a different state) via a vehicle by force or fraud? DeSantis has more than admitted this is what he did, including through a media appearance, and he's proud of it to boot! He is more interested in one upping Democrats and virtue signaling than his criminal liability or law license.

If anybody does the same thing, they get charged with a felony. The double standards abound with DeSantis: he is a "special" decendant of immigration and above the law.

Now your touting conspiracy theories. So, he’s not going to be convicted because he is above the law? Sure😉 Maybe it’s you got a little emotional and posted something silly?

No, I’m not having an arbitrary argument with a partisan hack(Jimbo). We have courts and rule of law that decide whether he committed a felony(his claim). He can put up or shut up. He is a big boy and doesn’t need you to come rescue him.
One of us is debating with supporting evidence and no name calling involved, and one of us is not.

Have a nice weekend: I have better things to do than debate people that don't know how to debate.
