Dakich Nailed It on the Head

Dakich couldn't hit a railroad spike on the head.
I had a notion this tweet would wind up here.
Another leave of absence might be in order to avoid meaningless arguments.

Nope I am part of the crowd now who thinks there is a real chance we may not get him.
Right, because he didn't accept the offer on the spot as you previously thought he would. Which was my point.
He recently said he will wait until summer is over before deciding. My guess is Leal is a Hoosier by tomorrow night.
What in the world is going on with recruting. It is becoming clear that losing streak really is hurting recruiting in a bad way. This spring we have lost the following below recruiting battles. We got one transfer in Brunk but lost every other battle.

Harris
Brooks
Watford
Morton
Beverly
Quinones- likely gone
Leal still have not pulled the trigger. I was under the impression he was an IU lock?
I think we for sure get Leal and I wanted him more than Galloway anyway. I know Purdue is after him really hard also.
God forbid he actually wants to go through the recruiting experience. I get it, you expect instant gratification. Seriously, it's still early summer and he was offered only 1.5 months ago. I know it won't make you feel any better, but 247 still has him as 100% for IU.
Don’t think Purdue is still after him. Purdue is looking big now because their scholarships are limited.

For those of you who think we should just cut bait on Archie after this past season or upcoming season, you may need to temper your expectations or open your checkbooks REALLY wide.

@All4You I have to admit when I saw the payout figure I did a facepalm and then looked at your avatar and laughed. I did not know CAM got such a good buyout provision in his contact. One would think it has to be a big factor in any decision.

17 mln and buyers’ remorse. Just think how much it would have been if it were an “elite coach hire”. From purely fiscal point of view Coach Archie Miller is here to stay.

They said that about Sean Miller also.
They said what?

Sean Miller took over a struggling Arizona program coming off back to back interim coaches. In his 2nd year he won the PAC 10 with a 30-8 record, went to the Elite 8, and signed the #4 recruiting class in the country.

How is that anywhere similar to Archie?

You think Sean was catching criticism after doing that in year 2?

Only to you. Wow the posters here are 24/7 negative.
Only to me huh? No I think it is to many but oh well it is a 19 year rebuilding process anyway so we are just getting started. I will sit back and enjoy the ride.

Fred likes to hire coaches who need training wheels. God forbid IU hire an established coach and pay top dollar for them.
By doing so Fred knows the can get away with keeping them at least 5 years and claiming it was a major rebuild and major time was needed. Fred is no dummy.

You have no idea if he will get four years unless you are somehow connected with the IU administration and have been told this. If next season is a disaster and recruiting is dead giving him a fourth year will simply make him a dead man walking.
He’ll quit and go somewhere else if they miss the tourney next year and if recruiting isn’t good.
