Mobile big man for Memphis, started his career with Baylor and Illinois. Saw a couple of his games this past season. Has developed as a scorer, and has exceptional open court handles for a center. I think he would fit nicely within CDD’s system.

Actually he played at Baylor and Illinois before going to Memphis. He's fr9m MN i believe

Danja for a year would be great. He wants a big bag I’m sure.

Did anyone see the guy in the portal from Auburn. He is going to be 26 while playing next year. LOl what a joke 26 playing vs some 17 year olds. Must of had like three covid years.

Back to the basket post scorer, doesn't fit the system.

Hard pass .. scoring bigs cost too much and have the least impact. He's basically another shorter version of Ballo .. no moves, lacks skill. Should be able to find a defensive rebounding screening big to cover that much cheaper.

Have you seen him play this past season?

Yes, I also watched 24 Drake and 25 WVU games where a post up on the block was very rare. From what I've seen that's not his type of big. Bailey is ..

A skilled euro big type would be ideal. That's the type of big worth paying for. Ones that can pass, shoot, move, run .. Florida had a nice set of three. Post up bigs are dinosaurs.

Dang. Jess Settles gotta be older than 26.

He was a big game player, my buddy I was liked him so was forced to watch him. Hes quicker than Ballo can move his feet.

Agree, and has a better handle. Still, doesn't fit .. at least not what I've seen from DeVries' offense but he never had a big like him so ...

After the last 8 years I'm really tired of seeing post iso while other teams rain threes. Plus if I heard one person say Dainja Zone, I'd have to kill them.

lol. That's why Wilkerson got me very excited. If Bailey can actually play the 5, him Goode, Tucker, Wilkerson and one other guy would be so much different than anything we have seen in a decade. Would love it.

I can understand a bit of low-post PTSD, but I don’t think Dainja has to play that way to be effective.

Bailey doesn't carry enough weight to play center. He's 190 wet for Pete's sake. Big ten centers would bully him down low. He's a shooting PF and that's about it. Hopefully he can sneak in for off.rebounds. Something IU has lacked. IU needs a rim protector/rebounder that is around 225-230 lbs. at least and 6-10 to 7-0 in height.

If we get a big dude like that I doubt he plays a lot. Looks like DD wants to shoooooot em Clint.

Reed Bailey is 6’10” and 230 lbs. Not 190lbs. I’m sure there will be minutes where he is at the 5.
But we do still need a rim protector, screener, banger, lob dunker kind of a guy. Two more 5 type guys who can defend are needed.

You’re only off 40 lbs but who’s counting?

That is exactly why MR was not going to stay. He does not fit the system.

This is interesting because Dainja is A) out of eligibility, and B) denying he's entering the portal.

I guess he's going to ask for a waiver, because he only played 3 games as a freshman at Baylor, got injured, allegedly, and transferred mid-season to Illinois, and didn't play the rest of that season.

If he doesn't get a waiver, there's no chance Goode does. And it's unclear if he's even available. If so, he's still a 6'9" low post big with no outside shot. He's attempted 1 three in four years. I doubt we can offer the kind of exposure he'd want. Who knows though.

lmao ... He's 230.

He played the five at Davidson. fwiw - You can screen with guards, it's not against the rules and DeVries employs guard to guard screening often.

We do need post depth, but get used to not having slow ass unskilled one dimensional dinosaurs at that spot.
