Boy was he stewing a bit. Loved that he was still fuming about a practice that might have been okay, but not near to what Cig wanted, so he gave the players his "x-rated" take on things. We had one of those practices last year as well, and he called out the players. Never drops his standards or accepts "good".

I love the fact that "good" is no longer acceptable at IUFB. That standard can only make this program great and a joy to watch year in and year out. GoHoosiers

Love Coach Cignetti. He seems to be a solid guy even while being demanding. And knows what he's doing, what works.

Excited to see if Coach Devries has success here. His press conference, it was wild that he used the exact same phrase as Cig in 'the standard is the standard' ... As far as getting guys who will be playing hard, playing defense, playing as a team. And then the same practice philosophy - practice intense at game speed, but not as long. Then gave the same reasons Cig does for that. Better learning, not stressed in game situations because it feels the same.

"When you got capable people that are very motivated, disciplined, & committed, & all think alike, they keep their eye on the bullseye & there's no personal agendas, anything is possible." Coach Curt Cignetti. This is the motto this year's team needs to adopt. They need to "stay humble & hungry."

I can see complacency setting in. We were 11-2 last year, “all we have to do is show up and we will win”.
Not sure how to combat that. Looks like Cig is doing it by simply asking if you want to stay on the team. If so, then do this.

It was one spring practice. It's hard to say complacency is setting in after they had nine really good spring practices. Unless you're watching every minute of every practice, workout, film session, saying you see complacency setting in based on a spring practice press conference is just making it your narrative.

He made similar comments last year. He laid into them after they got back from spring break less than focused last year.
