Cig supporting Byingyon?

Yeah. I didn't believe that for a second.
I’ve heard of Adam Z but didn’t know anything about him. Googled him and it said he was an award winning sports writer. Kind of sounds like he is a Doyle, writing stuff that he’s been “told” just to try to beat everyone to it. Maybe the dumb ass should do a little research. Way to put him in his place Coach Cig!!
Hope the next basketball coach has the same personality as Coach Cig.

Byington had a heck of a team last year at JMU. Tons of vets and rolled into Breslin on day one and beat MSU in their opener. I watched that game. Impressive season.

But after that....you have to wonder if he has shown enough to be a viable candidate.

Didn’t they beat Wisconsin in the tournament?

Yes.
If you compare May to Byington, May took a team to the FF, then won 25 games the following year, and then switched to the Big Ten and is leading the conference with a team of transfers. So he's done 3 things- achieved high max results, built a team from scratch, and brought in a transfer team at a high level.

No comparison there who you go after.

I’d go with Beard if you can be convinced his domestic issues won’t repeat. But I’d be very happy with May. I don’t think he’ll leave Michigan so soon though. He’s got them rolling in year 1.

I'd be pleased with either. And Byington is simply a gamble that may not be necessary. There are a couple other coaches I'd rather gamble on.

Dear Coach Cig -

It’s admirable that you recognize good coaching and would lobby for your former counterpart at JMU. We can just let this play out as the IU braintrust will identify a candidate that caters to all the moral standards needed to coach at our burning dumpster fire program and check all the boxes on the “saint meter.” Sit back and watch as as the BOT fuddles through this process in identifying the “hot names” but not necessarily the right fit.
You just focus on the football program because it’s in good hands and you have a plan and blueprint for success that we trust.
Scott amd Pam can do a great job here as long as they don’t get any interference from the Keystone Cops above them, just like they did when they identified and hired you with very little interference.

Yep, you interview them all and hire the one who's vision most closely matches your expectations and desires.

You realize he debunked the rumor right? His tweet replying to the rumor was

"Not true. Scott Dolson knows a lot more about basketball than I do. I have my own team to focus on."

So before tell him to quit lobbying for someone, maybe, just maybe go to the source to see if there is any truth to the rumor you are talking about!!
