Chris Collins

You people are delusional. Chris Collins has a better resume than our current coach. Annnnd Collins will have a better resume than our next hire.

And yes, we could do a ton worse. And, we will.

Welcome to Nebraska Football kind of delusion.
If we keep dicking around like this, then we will ultimately transition from being Nebraska Football to Minnesota Football with the glory years so long ago that no one remembers (or cares).

Sampson is a good coach, no arguments. He took himself out by not following the rules, or he'd probably still be here. Crean did well when he had talent. If he'd had today's NIL and portal environment, he might have had pretty consistent success.
Crean ticked somebody off because we won the league the year before he was fired. Archie and Woody did not sniff that kind of success.

Crean was our Bo Pelini.

Archie and Woodson are Scott Frost.

Matt Rhule could possibly be our next coach.

**Disclaimer** I’ve read the Nebraska Football forum, Husker board for the last 7 years. The similarities are frightening.

Win the off season.
Every game prediction - win
Every loss - we are horrible. Fire the coach
We are cursed.
Next game. We are Nebraska. We are college football. Prediction. Win.
Then lose - we are dumb. No fundamentals. Poorly coached.

Iowa fan gives Nebraska fan sh!t.

Nebraska fan - your wins are meaningless because you don’t have 5 national championships from 30 years ago.

Iowa goes 8-4 and goes to a bowl. Every year
Nebraska goes 4-8. Every year.

It’s frightening.

Parseghian was a head coach at Miami 1951-55 with a record of 39-6-1; at Northwestern 1956-63 with a record of 36-35-1; and at Notre Dame 1964-74 with a record of 95-17-4.
Interesting. I didn't know he coached there. Winning at Northwestern is a huge hurdle.

Collins has certainly been the best they've had in decades. The thing I like about his teams is they play pretty good basketball. They tend to have serious size/talent gaps on the front line but Collins has blended players well and continues to recruit shooters, and guys who play to win. It's no longer a laughing stock. Teams take them seriously.

Minnesota is the laughing stock now. Ben Johnson has been terrible.

Collins is the future Parseghian of college basketball now. That's an interesting POV.

Everyone was pleased after 2013. It took him too long, but he got there. Then he messed it all up. There was no reason to struggle in 14,15 and 17 other than due to his poor management of the program, second guessing in games, and oversigning.
But it was unique to go into 2012 and 2013 with so much experience. The guys had played all game for about 4 years. And they finally had enough of losing and figured it out.
Crean had it....then he lost it.

2016 was a fun season though.

Have you ever driven north from Northwestern up Sheridan Road? There’s no ride like in all of Indiana, let alone Bloomington.
I suppose it depends what you like.

Not sure there’s much that compares to the beauty of southern Indiana in the fall when all the leaves are changing. If you’re turned on by punishing winters, access to crime ridden Chicago, high taxes, and overpriced real estate, then the North Shore for you.

What’s missing on the Ara records above is that he beat ND 4 straight years, so they up and hired him. One of those seasons, NU was briefly ranked number 1. Ara felt under appreciated at NU, especially by their administration, considering what he’d accomplished. Believe it was his last season, but they ended on a 3 or 4 game losing streak. Ara felt he’d done about all he could there.

I recall seeing an interview with him talking about his clandestine meeting with Father Hesburgh at a hotel restaurant I was actually familiar with on the south side by the Museum of Science and Industry. That’s where they got the deal done.

Definately take a look at, but howbhard of a look?... He is a very solid coach for what he's been able to do at NW, but one would think he would take over Duke if something ever happened to Scheyer? Either way, he would do a good job at IU. I agree.
No reason to believe Scheyer won’t still be coaching at Duke for the next 25 years. Collins will be in the old folks home by then.

Yeah, you can’t walk the streets of Kenilworth without fearing for your life.
