I don’t understand the people that are upset about domestic abuse. But you support killing babies.
I'm reminded of a story from the Gerry Dinardo era at Indiana. Steve Addazzio was the OL coach at the time. Well one day one of the offensive linemen had a false start in a drill. Ole Steve Addazzio screamed at his players "guys are dying in Iraq and dumb asses are getting penalties". As you might imagine, the OL didn't care for that sort of babblespeak, and one fine young man said "Coach that's f***ing stupid".

I’m glad you posted it here. Difft peeps to talk about it. I just looked it up. Pretty bad stuff. First she apparently took his glasses off his face and crushed them. That will piss you off. We were in a bar fight in broad ripple over that very thing. Chick did that to my buddy and she was standing with her bf so he punched that bf right in the face. It pisses ya off.
But damn beard’s response is frightening. Choked her!!! That’s some scary shit. Hence a felony. But later she didn’t want to cooperate bc he said he’s sorry and she’s a high school volleyball coach and really likes his money and her name is randi which ends with an I and all girls with names that end in I are crazy so the prosecutor said he didn’t think he could get a conviction. She doesn’t get to dismiss or say I don’t want to pursue. That’s up to the state.
So my verdict. Three years ago. Hard pass. Not someone I’d want representing the program. Today? With it being a professional sport where everyone is paid and the idea of student athletes is laughable- hire him!
Altho there does seem like some holes in that coaching record. He might end up another Tom crean

I thought you except women as equals. And don’t have a problem with them on the battlefield. Chris defending himself is different than the drunk guy going home and beating his wife for no reason.
Back in the day cheating wasn’t tolerated (though we all know it still happened). Today what’s considered cheating is just part of the game. Domestic abuse is domestic abuse. It should never be tolerated.
Now if you want to say he’s innocent because charges were never filed than make that your argument. But I really don’t like the comments that IU and the fans think we’re too holier than though. This behavior should never be tolerated. If you think differently you need to take a hard look in the mirror. That could have been your daughter.
If they are interested, they need to talk to them both. If the injuries were elsewhere, defensive wounds seem more likely. But as you point out, the throat is serious. Normally it isn't attacked defensively. "Going for the jugular" is usually considered offensive.
If they interview both and come away satisfied, that's fine by me. You have to trust the person in the room. But it demands close scrutiny.
Smacking someone. Throwing her. Hell even pinning her. All self protection. Choking is different.

I’m kinda curious, where would you draw the line on this domestic abuse? So right now we’re at choking. Would he have to kick or bash in her face? Maybe if she was pregnant punch her in the stomach? Throw her down the stairs? Where would you draw the line?

Engaging in totally irresponsible speculation here, but my guess is that this wasn't the only time a situation between Beard and his wife got not intercourse physical. Seems to me from reading the reports, it escalated like these two had done this before. It wasn't handbags at 20 paces, it read like Sgt. Slaughter vs the Iron Sheik in 1984....
