Chicago

Maybe if he looked in the mirror he would see why they are crying. They are all tweeting in red shirts like they are some sort of cult.

Chicago Teachers Union Issues New Proposal, But Mayor Says No Deal

Union leaders said under their proposal, members would return next week to hand out computers for remote learning and help get students signed up for testing and vaccinations.

Lol now they think it's their job to get your kid jabbed. Unreal.

Perillo, who said he voted for Lightfoot in 2019, has been highly critical of both the mayor and Chicago's progressive District Attorney Kim Foxx after thefts skyrocketed 51 percent in the city last year.

'It's only a fool who keeps doing things the same way and expects different results. If the Mayor and Kim Foxx don't do anything to get control of this, it's not going to get better. It's going to get worse,' Perillo told local TV stations.

'If they don't do anything about this, they're going to lose a lot of businesses. They lost Macy's. They're losing Neiman Marcus. They may lose this store,' he added.

LOL boy when even the left win mayor disagrees with you it show how out of touch and the union really is. Meanwhile all catholic and private schools in Chicago are open today and its business as usual.

We will see how quickly they change their tune if pay gets docked.

Chicago Teachers Vote Against In-Person Learning. Mayor: Defies ‘Common Sense’

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot speaks in front of a blue background.
Back in school for just two days, Chicago officials canceled classes Wednesday after almost three-fourths of teachers union members voted in favor of returning to remote learning.
The union said the break from in-person school would last two weeks, unless positive COVID-19 cases declined or an agreement was reached over safety precautions.
“We believe that our city’s classrooms are where our students should be,” said the union’s statement. “Regrettably, the mayor and her [Chicago Public Schools] leadership have put the safety and vibrancy of our students and their educators in jeopardy.”

But the district called the vote a work stoppage and said teachers would lose pay if they don’t show up on Wednesday. Parents were told to expect an update on how their children would continue learning by the end of the day.
“To be clear, what CTU is seeking cannot be counted as an instructional day under state law and guidance,” the district said in a statement.

As districts nationally try to contain further outbreaks due to the Omicron variant, and parents once again scramble to adjust to abrupt shifts to remote learning, the standoff between the district and the union is a major test for CEO Pedro Martinez, who took over leadership of the district in late September. On Tuesday, he appealed to the union and the community, calling for a plan triggering school closures that better “represents the times that we’re in” and reflects that vaccines are now available for staff and students. He argues that cases increase when students are out of school and that closing schools would only increase community spread. Mayor Lori Lightfoot said during a Tuesday night press conference that returning to remote learning would “harm hundreds of thousands of Chicago families.”
CDS.

I have a suggestion: Stay in Kokomo or in whatever stupid town you live. No one cares what you think of Chicago.

You and yours would probably be the family I see eating at TGI Fridays when Chicago has some of the greatest restaurants in the world.

you’re a know nothing. Stay away from here. Far, far away.

Yep for sure but these clowns think they are above all of that. Now there wree 27% who voted to stay in school so I am not sayhing it is all of them. But it is the vast majority.
“Wree”?

Stay in school.

Plenty of Fox News dumbasses in this thread I agree, but I’m pissed about the casino decision. Lori sets up a committee then announces the River North / River West decision before they have a chance to vote. Ballys also only paid half the fees other bidders. Almost no one wants it.

Lightfoot, Kim Foxx, etc have been a disaster. The city will continue in a slow decline with these clowns in charge.

The reduced police force is real issue Hoops. I’ll defend Chicago too, but my faith is starting to slip.

Kim Foxx is the #1 problem in Chicago. You guys should read and complain about her. I wish Fox News, etc would also pick up on this
Yet you probably voted for Obama, Hillary, and Biden who are George Soros’ biggest supporters. Smart move.

A lot of us are aware of her, and have noted her "contributions." That doesn't mean we can't comment on what a nasty bitch Beetlejuice is. It takes a lot of Dems to completely f up a city the size of Chicago.

New Orleans has 4 times the murder rate of Mexico City!

People in the US hate the flow of drugs from Mexico. But, Mexicans are sick of the GUNS flowing illegally into Mexico from the US. Do you know how many gun stores there are in Mexico? 1

There is only 1 gun store in all of Mexico? That should mean there are no killings with guns then, right?

I dig I dig. Chicago and Mexico are a lot alike. I wonder why they don’t make a law saying drugs are illegal and a background check is needed to buy a gun?

Um....drugs are illegal in Mexico. But when the cartels are armed as well, if not better than the army, then there is not much the police can do. They shot down a Blackhawk helicopter loaded with police. Watch this video:

Mexico's most violent cartel is the Jalisco Cartel, based in Guadalajara. But three of their leaders live in Puerto Vallarta. My driver dropped me off at the house where i was staying and said "One of the top three guys in the Jalisco Cartel lives just up the street."

Just like the Mafia in the US, there is zero crime in that neighborhood. You will never get in trouble in Mexico unless you mess around with the cartels.
