Don't know a ton about him but a heady '21 4* pg out of Raleigh. Decent offer list thought to be a UVA lean but an Indiana offer could change that.

Other insights other than needing a haircut?

Makes me think Lander isn't a lock by any means.
Furst is further than Lander coming to Btown.
But it's still early..
Visit's will mean a lot.

What's with this fanbase and it's weird infatuation with hair?

So he has a hobbit fro, there's nothing wrong with that.

Lander and Furst would make a great 2021 recruiting class.
One guy supposedly well connected to the program, said that Furst right now is not a high priority for the program. Maybe something to do with the roster construct where they prefer Kaufman at this point. It might go to the outstanding depth of talent that’s in the 2021 class or that a school like Purdue or Michigan State has a big lead in his recruitment. All of course just speculation at this point.

Mike Roberts is the lead recruiter on Witt, to my understanding.

The best big man in the state of Indiana should be a priority.

A few local sports journalists told me Lander is a heavy lean at the moment for IU. We were talking at Archie's visit to Evansville how many things mentioned by the coach and Shoulders could have been directed at Lander. It was good to see a kid come see the coach. It is usually the other way around.

I want Lander. I hope Whitt is a backup plan.

I’ve heard Lander is likely for prep school. And if he does I’ve heard it’s very unlikely he’ll come back to IU. Hopefully he stays in school.

Lander would be the huge get, he is a elite recruit. He has all the top schools knocking, and is going to have all the big boys making him a priority target. Early NBA entry talent.

There is no way he goes to prep school. Lander really is loyal to his coach and teammates. KL worked his butt off late summer and currently on the court and the weightroom, with his Reitz teammates. You made that stupid statement up just to be a negative douche and get attention.

I suspect that if Whitt is a UVa lean, then it is for the 2021 class. However, there is speculation afoot that Whitt may re-classify to the 2020 class. If so, things become a bit murkier. Virginia was out of scholarships for 2020 until
last week. Frankie Badocchi dropped off the team to focus on his studies. Bennett already has a point guard in the 2020 class, but, given his schemes, he has no problem putting two or three on the floor at the same time. Whether this appeals to Whitt is unknown. Additionally, Geronimo was hosted last week unofficially. So far, I am unaware of an offer, but his sister is already enrolled and is a member of the crew team. Make of that what you will. Regardless, by the time Whitt makes a decision about when to graduate from high school, Virginia may be out of scholarships for 2020. Again.

Well, that's a problem then because Phinisee will start at point guard his senior year and 5-star freshmen point guards generally want to go somewhere they will start.

Kentucky has 3 5* PG’s on their roster alone this year. There’s a way to figure it out. Lander and Phinisee can co-exist.
Is there a rule that 2 PG can not play on the court together? 1975 - 1976 IU National Champion had basically 2 PG on the court together with Quinn Buckner and Bobby Wilkerson, both were excellent passers, and defenders. Bobby Wilkerson was likely the best defensive player in IU history.

With Cross out of the picture, is Whitt reclassifying to 2020 a possibility?

Wilkerson was 6'7" and about 210 pounds.
2 PGs can work, it just isn't necessarily ideal.

You said Lander was a near UM lock. I know you made it up but do you still feel that way?

We did OK with Yogi and Hulls right?

Yes, and Guyton/Lewis.

I question whether a 5star point guard would want to share starting duties with a senior 4yr PG starter. If he wants to come to IU, yes, fine, I'm sure he is talented enough to find a spot for him. He was in Evansville listening to Miller. I'm sure that is a good sign that communication is good between coach and recruit.

Well wasn't Hulls a starter at the point his 1st 3 years when Yogi committed as a 5*??
