Carsen Edwards signs with agent

Every significant player from the past 4-5 years is gone. PU is due to come back down to earth.

Last year was down to Earth. Lost in the tournament. But there's no panic, just plug in the next batch of players and make another run at it....Newman is gonna be gooooooood. Got lots of minutes for freshman and sophomores this year. Big game minutes. There's more a feeling that it is coming together than falling apart.

Well shit, glad I can talk shit to all those Purdue fans since I was 2 years old the last time we won a national title. You old people sound desperate pounding your chest about something that happened 32, 38, 43, 66, and 79 years ago.
I suggest you find another fanbase to annoy. The lack of respect for the IU history shows a casual interest .You may have been shitting in your diaper when we played for a national championship in 2002, If so, you can ask someone older and wiser what it felt like to win a title or play for one. Or you can be like my son and watch the games online or on a DVD. It doesn't mean it is insignificant just because you didn't see it.

You sound like a perfect Purdue fan. Don't pick them if you really want to experience national success. If I am not mistaken, Purdue last went to the Final 4 in 1980? I remember winning two championships and losing another since they made it past the Elite 8. I would trade all our B1G titles to win another NCAA title. That is how good it is to win. A Purdue fan and you don't understand that .

I basically told these folks the same thing in the other Carsen thread. They don’t seem to realize that Purdue had some pretty good recruiting classes the past few years plus the Newman class this year. You are correct, Purdue’s freshmen and sophomores, good, quality players mind you have gotten a lot of minutes not to mention being in a couple tight games in the tournament up to the Elite 8 game. Purdue is going to be an extremely balanced team next season, perhaps even better than this year.

Don't be a fool. You should probably listen to the last two Boiler fans that have replied to your nonsense. They're a lot more correct than you are.

Purdue will go back to being very physical next year, especially with Williams and Eastern. They'll be fine.

And they will lose again.
That's fine too.

Did you go to IU? My buddies, also graduates, couldn’t give two shits about titles won 40+ years ago.

I (similar to Purdue fans) have no idea what it feels like to win a national title. IMO, it sounds desperate and conciliatory bragging about something that happened so long ago simply because we have little to brag about this decade when it comes to Purdue.

I care about what I’ve actully experienced, what’s happening today with the program, and where we’re headed tomorrow. This stuff from the 40s is juvenile.

Go back to GBI. No one here cares.

I’m happy something from 40 years ago makes you wet.

I seem to remember Heller talking about how he talked to several people in his travels around the country who thought Purdue was an Ivy League school.
Maybe because Purdue never wins nationally just like Ivy League schools, but without the prestigious Ivy League degree.

I was with a group of people on the West coast that thought Purdue was a technical school located in the South East. I don't know what school they were confusing them with. Someone asked if they had anything to do with chickens and turkeys. I said, yes and chuckled to myself. In a way they are, but they aren't Perdue Farms.

It was funny to watch PU fans and dads thinking they actually had a chance this year, and then lost again as usual. If you want to win a title, don't go to Purdue.
Let’s give credit where credit is due, whatever the saying, as it so goes...they finished strong, had a good draw in the tourney, got some of that good luck, and some bad luck. The bottom line is, IU was damn lucky PUke didn’t win the national championship this season.

How so? They lost in the elite 8. That’s 3 wins short. They were as close to winning the natty as they were to losing in the 1st round.

The good luck- the foul against Edwards in the last second of regulation against TN, allowing them to win in OT rather than lose in regulation. The bad luck- the second missed free throw without getting the rebound against Virginia. Finished strong - tied for BT regular season champs after early season losses. Good draw- Old Dominion, Tenn, Virginia - three very winnable games with a little luck. Ditto in the Final Four, if not for the bad luck ((see above, starting the last two words, third row down.)

People out west aren't great with geography. I once had to show a map to otherwise intelligent people prove the state of Indiana was east of the Mississippi river.

IDK if you can say good draw, playing in Louisville was a break I suppose, but we lost to the National Champion so you could easily say we drew the toughest 1 seed. It sure wasn't Duke with their inexperience. MSU? IU knows it isn't them first hand, twice. I don't think it was a good draw or a bad draw, seemed about right for a 3 seed.

Playing the South regional in Louisville is probably as far north as you can get and still be called south. I don’t see any “suppose” in it. Yes, you had to play Virginia in the regional but I think if you were to see what teams you would have to actually defeat in order to win a national title BEFORE the tourney, you might consider PU relatively fortunate with Old D., Tenn, Virginia, Auburn, and TT. There’s not a traditional monster among them. The South regional was not deemed the strongest one before the tournament and just because a team from there won it, doesn’t mean they were the strongest opponent of the 64. Occasionally, the gods overseeing games in general just say, “Hey, You! How would you like to win a big basketball tournament?” And so it comes to be for all to see. “Yes, Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus.”

I paid for one of those match-making speed dating find-a-mate-before-it’s-too-late setups where you have 5 min with a gal and then you move on to the next one. Well, knowing my time with this good looking one was so limited, I asked her upfront if she believed in the hereafter. When she replied to the affirmative, I said, “Good, then you know what it is I’m really here after!” Never saw her again except in the wildest fantasies of my mind.

You won’t be bad but you won’t be good either next year. Newmann will be good but not for a few years. He’s not a game changing freshman like a Zion. Next year you won’t have Edwards to go to. Your defense will be good though.

I can’t believe that line didn’t work.

You should read her posts over there after the VA loss. Unless she is deliberately spreading misinformation, sure sounds like he is going.

You get to go twice and it's a good experience for the players, I would go if I were him too. He's an unusual player with gifts a lot of good players don't have. He is an incredible defender who will only get better. Great rebounder from his position. Good offensively around the rim. IF he can develop his shot he's got a chance in the NBA. He's got a long way to go on his shot, it's not good form. But the kid WILL put the work in, his effort to raise his FT percentage second half of the year was laudable. He does everything else so well he just needs to develop a decent shot, not a good one, to have a shot at playing for $$$$

Yeah, especially since it was an imaginary story.
All my lines work in my imaginary world of make believe. Try a few daring lines sometime. You might be surprised how much fun a man can have when he puts his mind to it.

I hope Eastern goes pro. I’m sick and tired of losing to Purdue, about as sick and tired as I am of an 8-10 record in the Big Ten.
