Yeah weird. In within like weeks of each other in 01Knight was fired in September of 2000. We obviously had a new coach by then so was there a news story that led to a membership boost?
And Marshall Strickland. Can’t remember who else…Maybe there was some big recruiting battles? If I recall didn’t Mike Davis have a bunch of big name recruits coming? Was that the Bracey Wright recruiting cycle?
I can’t remember. I don’t think it was that. Maybe it switched over from something else. And Marshall Strickland. Can’t remember who else…

Took 30 seconds to refresh the page everytime to see where Jared Jeffries chose to play. IU or Duke.. Computer lab at school.. Finally, after a 1 minute refresh, the front page says "It's official, Jeffries is a Hoosier". Let's just say everyone turned their attention to me those next 10 seconds vbgWith dial up, every click had to be planned. Thread view definitely helped. (NT)
Yeah - I feel like I might be in the group that pre-dated peegs on the Indy star board. I went to peegs for a long time. There was a spell where Smeagel ran a board that looked a lot like this one, and that went away too.I remembering being a member of "Peegs IU Hoop news". in 1997 when I first found the site. I got my first comp xmas 1997... Earliest memories were Jeffries upcoming as a soph, names like Jeff Treadway, Bert Klassen?? Dennis Coutee, bunch of names that never had the chance as upperclassmen. Also pics of the athleticism coming in Kei Madison, Jeffrey Newton, Leach, reaching out to a very green Dirk Nowitzin(6'7" 187Yeah - I feel like I might be in the group that pre-dated peegs on the Indy star board. Thread view is infinitely better than topic view. Unless you were/are irredeemably lazy thread view allowed you to “title” each response, which led to great creativity and, frequently, hilarity. And, you could see “sub-threads” so you could avoid sections where a thread veered off on something stupid or commie, like s******.
RMKFAN was the best.Or an Rmkfan breakdown of a 45 point loss
Yup. Crazy to think how much energy and activity there was then on the bball boards. Where’s mike Davis. Was a lot of funRMKFAN was the best.
I first found Peegs in 98 or 99. At first I came in as a guest. I don't join things quicklyI remembering being a member of "Peegs IU Hoop news". in 1997 when I first found the site. And idk to answer your question.

Peegs published a firefighters style calendar with all of the site employees....and it drove in businessKnight was fired in September of 2000. We obviously had a new coach by then so was there a news story that led to a membership boost?
Correct. I miss iu basketball. There was some real sports entertainment. The jordan years. Iu and all the drama. Xavi iniesta and Messi after ronaldinho. Now there’s really no sports I get excited about or read aboutRMKFAN1, please.
I had several arguments with him. The Sun Tsu substitution situation most notably. I met Jack at yogi's on a couple occasions. A very nice guy.The one and only.

I got my MS in Information Systems in 1993, so I had a personal computer since 1991 and was on the original IU board about that time. Star News Forum, then moved on to the predecessor boards that eventually ended up being Peegs. Went to a Jeffersonville High School game with Peegs when IU was interested in a player there.
Now that I think about it, I didn't get into the Star News Forum until I was in Japan in 1993. I was Hoosier in Japan or HinJ at the time.Yeah I came here from the Star News forum as well, but that name got banned for some reason during the Davis era so my start date is 2007.
I joined in 2000. First posts were an argument with Rockfish and Buzz about the war on drugs. Then along came Bush v. Gore. That was great fun for lawyers. But for B v. G I might have disappeared into the sunset.Knight was fired in September of 2000. We obviously had a new coach by then so was there a news story that led to a membership boost?
I got offered a job by bush’s lawyer in all that. He was also the lead guy who initiated the lawsuit in the billion dollar Rothstein Ponzi schemeI joined in 2000. I think it's just age man. I don't get excited about any team at this point. I used to hang on every IU basketball/Colts/Pacers tidbit. Now, hardly know when they play.Correct. I miss iu basketball. You very well might be rightI think it's just age man. I don't get excited about any team at this point. I used to hang on every IU basketball/Colts/Pacers tidbit. Now, hardly know when they play.
I will watch NBA basketball though. Golden era right now.
I thought someone said you were Ironworks back then. Is that not accurate?Super Troopers came out in 2001. Farva then appeared and the rest followed.
Because it was the only game in town, at the time.Knight was fired in September of 2000. We obviously had a new coach by then so was there a news story that led to a membership boost?
No it’s the cluster of people who all got on around the same time we were trying to figure out. Oct/nov 01Because it was the only game in town, at the time.
