Bummer IU does not play Nebraska this year

Consider this IU faithful:

When the season is over, IU may be the only team in the entire conference without a win over another conference opponent. This is looking more and more likely.

What do you do if you are Glass?

I don't get why Nebraska was throwing so much early. That back-up qb for them was awful throwing 2 picks in first half and could have been a couple more.

Wow...how does this inflammatory post even fit into this thread? All the guy said was too bad we don't play UN. Your negative, factless based jab is just too self-serving, dude. You have no idea what would happen if they had played. Your vendetta against Wilson taints your every post. Mellow.....

#1 - the post was certainly pertinent. There were only 3 teams in the entire conference who had not beaten a conference opponent, IU, Maryland and Purdue. Now, there are just two: little, 'ol IU and the Terps.
Was merely pointing to the high probability that IU will be the only team in the conference who will be winless in their coach's 5th season after losing to Maryland, which speaks volumes about the dire situation of the program. 5th year, winless, rival up north just got a win leaving IU on its own island at season's end and people talk some extension for a guy who has done squat.

2. I don't have a personal vendetta against Wilson. I have a vendetta against lousy results. Wilson just happens to be the guy behind those lousy results. I personally don't think CKE is a bad dude. He's just so far in over his head that he should consider doing the right thing and step down s citing job incompetence.

The team has improved every year under CKW. Had Sudfeld not been hurt, they'd have gone bowling last year and this. This year it also took Howard getting hurt.

But is IU better now than when he took over? Record says no, KW still hasn't reached the win total from the year before he took over

Sudfeld getting hurt had nothing to do with Rutgers laying a double nickel on us.

BRCB is right. NEB would lay 90 on us. So would many high school teams.

I think this is very debatable. And every team has injuries. The good ones find ways to overcome them.

I think it's obvious...if IU loses out, we will have a new coach next year.

It 's clear that Glass it going to wait until the season is complete, then act.

4-8 means a new coach

Why do you think it's obvious?

are you goofy?

If Glass had full confidence in Wilson, he would've extended him after last season.

he's gonna let this season play out.

an 0-8 B1G record in Year 5 (including a loss to a godawful Purdouche program) will result in a firing.

Oh, I think he'll let the season play out. But none of the rest of your view is at all obvious. Possible? Sure. Obvious? Hardly.

man...I don't know....

It will be tough to extend the guy if he finishes 4-8

trust me...I'm not hoping for a 4-8 finish

we'll see

Extension. Even losing out IU is more competitive under Wilson than before.

Glass will do what he thinks is best. Message boards play zero into decision. We can talk all we want, but it has no influence. Just have to wait and see.

No matter how season ends, I think you're and others are in for a shock. Wilson will not be fired at seasons end..period. Not going to happen. Wait and see...

Just give the guy a lifetime contract and by year 30 of his tenure, he might become bowl eligible. Sheesh.
One thing is certain: if he does lose out and does get extended, he'll be playing in front of 20,000 fans next season.

What a ridiculous, childish, and deceitful post. You know damn well what I mean. Giving him more time is not an open timeline. I'm sick of you twisting anything positive someone says into a bitter, sad paraody of the truth. You need to get away from IU FB for a while. Between you and ezluke, you're bringing the entire site down to your level. If you can't debate what's said, don't post at all. Can you not see what you're doing? How you're twisting everything so you can rant and vent? Please wake up. You're not talking "reality" only vile hatred of Wilson. And you're stinking up the place. Do it in your own threads and leave others to what they believe. It's all or nothing with you, and that's never the right answer. Having an opinion is one thing, telling everyone that yours is the only right one is crazy. At least get your quotes right for Gods sakes!

The time for excuses and rationalizing is long past. Improvement that does not translate into better results on the field is irrelevant. Solid programs don't whine about injuries and being young. They adapt and overcome.

A Fyfe led team would certainly not lay 90 even on our defense. 45? Maybe, but if PU could put up 55 on them, IU would drop 70 in their sleep.

And how long has it been that IU is a "solid program"? It would have to be back to the Mallory days.

I am not a Wilson fan but turning a program like IU football, one of the worst programs in the NCAA, into a "solid program" is and will be a daunting task. This isn't bball where you can get two studs and you are competitive. Five years is not long enough for such a monumental job. Even if the stats don't show it, I believe progress is being made.

My major gripe with Wilson is that it appears he is not developing as a coach. IMO, he still makes highly questionable calls during the game. Could we have held on against Rutgers if he had not went for the two fourth downs? Would that have taken enough time off the clock to eek out a win?

They look awful.

They lose 55-45, with first time starter, former walk-on QB throwing 4 interceptions. Like Iowa and IU, Nebraska has been hit with injuries this season, such as the injury to Tommy Armstrong. One of their biggest play-makers just came back and he was injured again by friendly fire during the TD celebration.
