The conference is just strange. It just goes to show how down college basketball is (and how parity rules) that we are talking about 9 bids for a conference that seems really weak at the top.

The NET ranking and conference tournament seedings are two different things. The low NET ranking is the result of early-season missteps. Once league play started, Rutgers was one of the better B1G teams. Rutgers has a victory over each team in the top half of the league.
I understand that BTT seeding is based on conference standing, and that has nothing to do with NET or eventual NCAA seeds.
rutgers isn’t going to get a high NCAA seed, and it wouldn’t be impossible to see them miss the ncaa tourney (though pretty unlikely after they beat us).
