And this mentality by some around Indiana is what has kept IU in the stone ages. It's not the 1950s...assuming bc a kid wants to go elsewhere makes him not a good person is ridiculous. Assuming bc he has goals he wants to achieve makes him not a good student or what it means to where a jersey is equally absurd. Sounds more like a fan entitlement..."you are here for us and the perception of what we have envisioned of how we want reality to be, not how it actually is"
I've noticed the better at a sport a kid is somehow equates to them being a worse person with some ppl, with absolutely zero evidence to prove this. Because its asinine.
I'd say playing every game on national tv, against other national powers, in state of the art facilities, in front of a huge fan base, with professional players always around the program, and an opportunity to play deep in a tournament should be a major turnoff.
Btw, just to mention...wall, Davis, and kidd Gilchrist to name a few are still working to obtain their degrees on their terms. Will all of the former players who leave early, no they wont, but it is their life, neither will thousands of regular students. But since they didnt do it on your terms how you wanted, its they that are the bad person. Yeah, makes sense "what it means" to wear the IU jersey...you belong to someone else and their vision.
Best of luck. The games changed a lot since the advent of the "dunk shot"
They dont care about the school or each other at all, right?
It doesnt end...
Fortunately I have not seen anyone here criticize this young man or say he is not a good student. He was good enough to be admitted to Indiana so clearly he can handle academics. That said, I personally have no interest in the culture Cal has created and many Actual UK grads who like the wins would prefer to see a more connected program. The "outsourced" program is of no interest to me.
