Obviously stars don't mean everything. I think what commit-able offers a recruit has is more telling (and we don't always know which offers are actually still commit-able or legit).

The 4 stars that CTA landed were those that didn't seem to have that great of an offer list. Their offers were often not much different than what you would see on a mid-level 3 star, which is probably where they should have been rated.

This is why it's important to have a coaching staff that trusts their own ratings of recruits rather than rely on the services.

I think it’s important to note that even though our top NFL prospects for 2026 are transfers, they were originally recruited by this staff out of HS (Kamara, Ponds). I trust these guys way more than the prior regime.

If he is so great why is he just a 3* guy?

There are a TON of players who are very heavily recruited and stack up offers who are 3 stars. That alone is not a good way of evaluating a player.
