I’m a life long IU fan and I say nothing bad about our coach or players. As I’ve said before, I change accounts because after I post once or twice it keeps me from posting agsin and tells me to buy a sub. I get into the messsge boards here and there. I appreciate you caring about me so much and following me so closely though! I’m guessing you’re actually the one with the ugly wife and dorky kids but who knows?

Possibly but I still like getting a player that wanted to be at IU.
What part of the two players skill sets do you see that makes Newman a miss?
Scoring/shooter...we lack scoring guards. Durham is just ok. Rob isn’t a true scorer and green is inconsistent and only has 1 year left.
Franklin shot 39.3% from 3, 59% percent from 2
Newman was also 38.6% from 3, not sure about overall or from 2.
Newman did average about 3.5 points per game more, but Franklin vs a top 10 schedule in the state, Newman vs the 47th ranked schedule. Not sure why you think Newman is the better shooter when the stats show Franklin shot it slightly better

The IU coach is always going to have the option. Not sure if he leveraged that, but certainly expect him to.
Agree, but poor decisions not to recruit many stars who have left the state to play for Kentucky, Michigan State, UNC, UCLA, Virginia, etc.
Crean was guilty of that, but he also lost some to MSU and others out of state as well.

Stewart really isn't an "Indiana kid" is he? I thought he was from Rochester NY. And his good friend from Rochester is playing at Washington as well.
And Hemenway's dad was college teammates and friends with Clemson's head coach.
Dont' think IU or Purdue really had much of a shot with either.
For IU...losing Brooks hurt. The mood on this site would probably be a lot different otherwise. But, if a kid (and his dad) doesn't want to be here, then so be it.
