Brad Stevens not a candidate

I’m just not sure that the town the school is located in makes that much difference. I live in ATL and I don’t get the impression the very liberal Athens has much say about UGA. Again, obviously individual administrations obviously do.
And there's often a difference between the university and the town they're located in.

Very true. UGA is liberal in its own right. They lose though because no one in ATL cares about UGA because most aren’t even from GA and outside of Athens and Atlanta and few other patches GA is redneck as he’ll.

If Stevens is out, AD Dolson needs to decide if May or Beard is the better coach. I give the small edge to Beard. However, I could see either doing well.

People like Rabjohns of peegs need to quit dismissing Beard like they know all about him and whatever happened with his ex.
Every type of IU insider HAS dismissed Beard.. and some of them likely do know more about the reasons why.

Protests in the streets… ? lol.

By who? A couple that don’t buy tickets and don’t care about Indiana basketball. ? Like we’re that important to general society. ? Like Indiana basketball is a beacon of right and wrong.?

I think you people kind of need to get a grip. This dude is already coaching D1 basketball in a major conference and the world is still turning.
Remember what happened when Tennessee tried to hire Schrano? The students went ape.

I'd hire the guy in a heartbeat. I just don't think it's going to happen.

Why not? Pat Kelsey and Mark Pope look like good hires so far.

IU’s facilities are OK but nothing like what some other schools have.
Of all the names thrown out, I don’t see Kelsey’s mentioned. Not that I think he would come but neither was Stevens ever a viable candidate. Kelsey has done a great job in making a dumpster fire a highly competitive team this season

Exactly. I'm an Auburn alum and Indiana raised. I live in Alabama. Alabama is as close to Mississippi as you're going to get without being in Mississippi. Our politics are similar to Indians but Alabamians just don't GAF as long as you're 'a god fearing man' and can coach football. There just isn't much concern for ethics or morals.
God fearing without morals? Something wrong with that picture.

Bob Knight was considered a "bully" by many in the university and the media (accurate or not). I think IU is a bit gun shy about hiring anyone who might be considered a "bully"....especially when there is a female on the receiving end of it.

Is there anybody in the IU administration that was there when RMK was coach?

IU is on what, there 3rd or 4th president. 4th or 5th AD. Surely none of the trustees now were on the board then.

some on BTB think Goodman's tweet from Friday is just smokescreen while SD and team Brad continue to work on a deal.
Desperation taken to a cosmic level.
Disclaimer...he was never likely a serious candidate.

But...I still haven't seen anything other than the actual quote given, that supports the title or interpretations that Fof68 and/or Goodman are making?

Him saying he's happy in Boston and love the people he works with...really has nothing to do with the IU job. Its the most basic "non answer" that's often used in these types of situations. Because its probably true...and like I said, has nothing to do with whether or not he'd want to coach at IU.

technically...yes everything you said is true.
but you know this is where those Jim Carrey "so you're saying we have a chance" memes come from ?

If he got the call and the answer was no (again), do everyone a favor, release something definitive, and put everyone out of misery so we can move on forever.

next 5-8 weeks are gonna be long.

call probably already occurred w/in 24 hrs CMW "retirement". And a quick 'thanks but no...again!" was returned.
Or, the call was made in early January, there was some interest, Woodson was "retired" as a show of good faith that we were serious, negotiations are progressing.. hinging on terms that give him complete freedom to reinvent the program from the ground up. It's fun to fantasize.

in early January we were still 13-3/4-1. QB would have lost his shit if he knew SD was up to such a plan at that time.
