I learned, many years ago, to watch games on mute. Bilas had a hand in that decision. My grown kids think I'm crazy, I tell them "you learn so much more with your eyes than your ears". I'm 48, so not some old curmudgeon (although I'm getting there lol)

This always cracks me up. Nope, he's spent most of his adult life around many of the best coaches and programs in the country, but no, he doesn't know ball. I went to a coaches clinic that he spoke at and he was terrific. Knows it. Knows it incredibly well and was good at sharing it.

I like Bilas in general and would have to hear for myself what he said about the state of college athletics in order to make a judgement.

The fact is that this current mess could have been managed far better had the NCAA not clutched their pearls about compensating players to some reasonable level.

No getting the toothpaste back in the tube at this point, but we have to at least clean up the sink.

I wish they could do that - it would provide a little more stability. Unfortunately, the NCAA tried that and it got shot down in court, as has just about anything they have tried to do.
