Big Thanks to Matt Painter and the Purdue Boilermakers

Painter is such a nice guy, and it's impossible to hate him.

If we get at least get Mullins, the schadenfreude will be off the charts.

Love seeing little brother in pain.
You are right about Coach Painter. When I hear him in interviews I just like him. I joked once that it is illegal in my hometown of Washington IN to like the PU coach so it is good to live in another state.

I am not joking. I like Coach Painter. My father might not be with us for very much longer. He has dementia and probably would be mad at me if he heard me say it. But I stand by it. On a more serious note. I am thankful he is comfortable. We love him and know he loves us even though he is really not there. One funny thing that happened was the last time we were there in Washington my oldest daughter was there. He said to her,"now what is your name again?" She says, "Grandpa, it's me". He then was like, "Oh, yes." and starts laughing. About two hrs later I said, "Pop, what has been going on with the Red Sox?" He then goes over two or three of the players, knows their names, stats etc. LOL! This dementia is kind of a funny thing isn't it? It is not that he doesn't love his granddaughter more. It's that she is not with him every day. He watched ESPN and hears about the Red Sox players and so can recite things about them.

If he follows the Red Sox closely, he's probably very frustrated.

Back in the early 2000's Dad started having mini strokes. He became a Red Sox fan when his older brother came home from the war and took him to see the Red Sox play the old St. Louis Browns. Dad got to see Ted Williams play a double header and just loved him. He was a Red Sox fan the rest of his life. I was worried he might die before seeing the Red Sox win it all. But he was able to see 3 Red Sox World Series. He doesn't at this time really know what is going on.

sorry to hear about your father, that's a tough one, some of the stuff you spew is wacky and hateful at times (not talking about religion} but you seem like a decent person who is just misguided and gullible. hope the best for your family and your father.

for wasting all the time and money recruiting Trent Sisley, Braylon Mullins and Jalen Haralson.

IU appreciates it.

This is why I have, to my surprise, warmed up to the portal. Painter has spent years slobbering over Sisley, Mullins and Haralson and most likely isn’t getting any of them. Countless hours on the phone, watching mind numbing game after mind numbing game, going on in-home visits and hosting official visits without even knowing if they will truly perform and/or stick around. Same with IU going after Jalen, Liam etc.
With the portal you are going after guys with actual college resumes, offer the bag (which you also have to do for the hs kids) and you are done in a couple of weeks!

I became a Red Sox fan in 1967 when the Sox went to the WS in 1967 and lost to the Cards, 4 games to 3. Classic series and Bob Gibson was a killer. Yaz won the Triple Crown that year. Then the Hoosiers won the Big Ten in football and went to the Rose Bowl. A very good year.

I never thought I'd see the Sox win a WS and they've won 4. I go to Boston every few years to see some games in Fenway and I go to Florida to see them in Spring Training at Ft. Myer.

If your dad was still with it in 2018, he saw them win 4.

Your views are obviously skewed by your alcoholism, but you seem like a simple-minded person who doesn't intentionally post like an ass. Best wishes to you and yours.

When I was a student at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago Dad and Mom came up to see us. I took Dad to see the Red Sox play the White Sox. He never got to attend a game at Fenway. But at least he got to see them. I remember Tim Wakefield the knuckle baller beat the White Sox. Dad liked him a lot.

What a tragic story about Wake and h is wife passing so young and so soon to each other. Horrible for their family.

I used to go see the Red Sox play the White Sox in Chicago all the time. One was a 22 inning game. We left at the bottom of the 8th inning with the Red Sox in the lead. Got to the car in time to hear the White Sox tie it up. We drove all the way from Comiskey to our home in Kokomo, listening to the game. Turned the TV on and watched the Red Sox win in the 22nd inning.

Schadenfreude? Are you high? They’re coming off a national championship appearance. Painter will figure out pieces to make them relevant. You can almost guarantee it at this point.
