Big Ten Win Totals Released, IU at 8.5

As an Illini fan, I really want to head down to Bloomington from Chicago for that one, as I feel it will be a really fun game and possibly in prime time given the other games that week … just need to find some free grandparents for our 16-month old! 🤣

Have heard good things about the tailgating setup at IU, and I’m trying to hit more Big Ten towns/stadiums over the next few years. Despite what you read online, I personally have liked every Big Ten college town I’ve visited and think all are just different. Would like to add Bloomington to the list.
I guess you haven't been to West Lafayette yet...

Indiana has been really good at tailgating for a long time. Football is finally starting to catch up.

What are your favorite win totals (over or under) from the Big Ten? What about other conferences?

You can find the whole list here: https://x.com/Brett_McMurphy or a variety of other sources.
I think 8.5 is the perfect o/u for IU this year. I could see it going either way. What is almost a foregone conclusion is if we drop a game to any team other than Oregon or PSU, all of social media and the talking heads will bad mouth Cignetti and IU. I’m sure they can’t wait to denigrate the Cinderella year we had. I think that will fuel IU in the right direction. Cignetti is not the type to crumble over someone’s “words”.

Idk what “you would” means, but… What if they don't lose to either? They return like 18 starters off a 10 win team, including their QB, which is massive.
I think Illinois is good. Some of their games were head scratchers last year, though. You will fully admit being a Boiler guy that last year was one of the worst PU teams in decades and they damn near beat Illinois in OT on the road.
The QB position is huge for every team. Any team loses a portal starter and things can go south quickly.
What do you have as the projected wins for the Boilers this upcoming season?

You will love Btown and 80% of the tailgating is together and on site not spread out like many places. A very special place in the fall and fans are steeped in decades of bad football s the tailgating is very good and the fans are friendly.

Ya. Walters always played Illinois tough. Hope that is the version of Ryan Browne we get this year!

Idk. I think the floor is 3 wins. No idea the ceiling. No idea what the team is tbh. On paper, defense has a chance to be good enough. OL and run game should be solid, but like you said, QB position is huge. How good is Browne. WR is largely unproven. Some guys to like, but that's it.

At least we have a good coaching staff and should be competitive. Purdue relying on the run behind a big ass OL will be different.

IU season ticket holders and IU fans in general buying single games, need to make this Illini game a priority to attend…AND NOT SELL to the visitors!!! If anyone is selling, keep off the secondary market and get them into Hoosier hands.

LOL…And Keep “Fighter” back up here in Chicago with his kid!! 😉. Unless he just wants to tailgate in the Grass Lots and bring the kid with. That’s what we always did with our brood (although a few times in the Lynch and Wilson years, walking thru the student tailgater up front was a step or 2 shy of Sodom and Gomorrah). We always have plenty of Illini fans at our tailgaters. Hope they can’t get tickets either!!
