Made my first payment to kick off my 15th year of paying on my student loans. After approximately $70k in payments, I've finally got the balance to a point lower than I started with.

Congrats. It took me 20 years. I hammered them during the 0% interest Covid days. Maybe it’s my f$cked up wiring, but I didn’t celebrate. Was just glad they were over before I started paying for my 3 kids’ college. I made it be a couple years.

I love a good party.

For the mortgage, we had bracelets made for our friends. Opened a tab at our bar for the value of a mortgage payment and smartened up the bartenders that bracelets are on the tab until 80% of the tab was hit or we got drunk and left. The leftovers were the tip. The drinks were strong that night, we had a blast, and the bar staff had a VERY good shift.
