Ballo is not TJD or Ware

Reneau, Mgbako, Tucker, Galloway and Rice.
Carlyle would be excellent as the microwave off the bench with the ball in his hands.

We have to have more than 3 sets in order to properly put the pieces together with this talent.

There was no reason to close out that half with Mgbako on the bench. Could've put our foot on their throat.

A sharp coach would start the second half with the most effective line-up from the first half, which would be Reneau, Mgbako, Galloway, Carlyle and Rice.

Mgbako should have 25 points right now.

Arizona made Ballo all conference 2x, he will not be all big 10 this year, I've seen him 20 minutes, he's a garbage man, screen rebound put backs, that's it
What I saw of him at AZ, that's primarily how he was used there. I think they spaced the court better though, and when he gets a chance in the post 1 on 1, he's got a good post game. He was also good in pick and roll when I saw him.

For this team, I think he's a really good fit: we have plenty of options all over that can score, so if he's OK with taking his opportunities, setting screens, controlling the paint and boards on both ends, he doesn't take shots from Reanu, Mbako and others. But, the general feeling here is that he came because of CMW's success getting 5s to the league so if he does want to expand his game, it could be at the expense of others, or he could get frustrated.

Not trying to say that this was the reason for Bako on the bench...but I think he picked up his 2nd foul late in the 1st half and maybe they didn't want him getting another cheap one for #3?

That's the lineup I'd use, too.

Woodson can't sell Ballo and future players on "I'm the guy that gets centers to the NBA" and then not start him. Starters don't matter as much as who is playing in the end.

We need two offenses to match our two distinctively different centers. Go back and watch Ballo transform in the half court with Reneau on the bench and Galloway working the p&r with him. Put Goode with those two and construct a halfcourt offense that has some spacing and goes about things a little bit more methodically. Start Reneau, Mgbako, Tucker, Carlyle and Rice with the intention of getting up and down and getting points off of turnovers and 3s in transition. We can get 35 and 15 every night out of the 5 if we play the bigs separately. Galloway can get minutes with the "speed" team at the 3.

Configure line-ups towards the strengths of the players and stop trying to pound squares into round holes.
There's a way to be dominate with 8 players getting 20+mpg with this group.

Woody needs to set the 2 big idea aside. Forget any promises made and start coaching for dominance.
