Virginia won the big one. Wisconsin made the final game. I mean given we have not done squat in 20 years the least of our concerns are winning the big one right now.

Wisconsin sure and Virginia had great players and nice recruiting classes but systems as a whole aren’t the way to go. 2 teams in 20 years isn’t exactly a trend.
I picked IU to win tonight about a week ago, albeit before the party weekend/suspension crap. If the boys can come together and get in a "good place" like we were seeing before Northwestern, then I think we will all be happy tonight. Off topic, didn't Romeo hit a big shot as the clock was winding down to put it to Wisconsin? That alone should cut him some slack.
The reason we play is to WIN the game. Adjust the offense EVERY year to fit your roster. Run your NBA offense when you have a roster that can successfully run that offense. What future stud wants to go to a team that cannot score 60 ppg during that player's recruiting cycle? What future stud wants to commit to a team that cannot make The Dance? Do what you have to do to WIN the game, and score more than 60. What kind of offense does Woodson run, as I am not seeing the positives.

I’m not making any predictions about the rest of the season. We don’t shoot it very well, so the path to the tournament is to play hard every night. That’s a tough route. We will see if they have it in them.
The game is sold out as are all non student-break games. The 9 pm starts always take a toll on the older fans and students with tests in the AM.
Now if the students suddenly go back to leaving 2K empty seats like they have in recent years then it will be time to rekindle the "sell some of them to the waiting list" emails.
I'll be there, compliments of another one's ticket offer. I think because it's a 9 PM game, those not retired in occupation are more willing to pass on their ducats to those not distracted by thoughts of early morning alarm clocks. This is a game of reckoning. Our self esteem as individual fans of IU basketball moves either up or down. There will be no more sideways movement as this possibility has been totally exhausted, as noted in Ch 7,'s Season of Disillusionmen, in coffee table book format, IU Basketball, As We Once Knew of It.
Hmmm. We do? He’s already running a double post at times (woody doesn’t want that)but I’m sure you recognize that. I’m sure the pulse of recruiting is in our fans wheelhouse. For one Woodson hasn’t lost more than 2 games in a row until he suspended the fab 5. So tell us what would you do with this roster to win more games? Seriously? Would you run a junk offense or would you run the offense you want to have stuff to show future recruits? Archie ran a junk offense and couldn’t get 2-3 guys because he had nothing on film. Nba offense my butt. Some guys here are like broken records. Most of the stuff Woodson is running is ran by like 75% of college teams in some form or fashion. He does not need nba talent at every position or even most to run his offense. What he wants is guys who can score from all 3 levels, handle the ball, and are versatile on defense. There are plenty of guys who fit that mold who aren’t top 50 recruits. Gunn is one example. Banks another. He does need his type of guys but lets not act like Woodson is all the sudden reinventing the wheel here. Almost every college now runs the types of sets Woody does because they must with a 30 second shot clock.
A decent stretch 4 would completely change our view on this offense. They are that close.
I have not seen anything that resembles toughness out of Parker. He needs to sit
100% agree. Our roster has holes for a 4 out type of offense. Our 4 cannot consistently shoot from out, We have 2 guys who are 1 demential shooters, we have at least 3 guys without a consistent jumper on the perimeter.
Woody has tried to adjust his approach with multiple posters and playing a lot of high/low among others I am sure I haven’t picked up on. Unfortunately this team as a whole is just not a good offensive group.
This nonsense that he needs an nba ready roster is silly. He does need solid, diverse offensive players. We don’t have them currently. I am optimistic because of what I have seen from X, Race, Galloway, and Rob. I believe when Woodson has been here for 4 years we will look much better offensively and even better defensively.

No. The poster stated to the effect that 'wait till you see that improved offense in Year 4'. We've heard that before. IU needs to grow, every game, not go backwards. IU should not wait till year 4. Now is the time to improve, every game. Play to Win The Game. Not hard.. An offense averaging 60 per game will NOT make The Dance.
IU has averaged 60.2 ppg the last 5 games. The O has been exposed and evidently many here are fine with making no changes. NIT is not an option.

Yes. Except X has been more consistent as of late. If we had race hitting. Completely changes things.
Name a team, any team in history that grew every single game and never backslid in any way all year.
Imo we have seen improvements. TJD has played incredibly poorly recently. Rob got hurt. 5 players acted selfishly and got suspended. All that on the coach? Woodson’s fault that TJD who is 6’9” and generally the most athletic big on the court only gets 5 rebounds? We are growing and maybe we get to where we all want to go or maybe we won’t. We will have zero idea after a single year though.
I have witnessed a disastrous February, the critical month to show improvement. IU is playing poorly, borderline disinterested from some players. I hope you are right, and IU runs the table...

Because the coach has had zero opportunity to turn the roster over to get his type of players or talent.
If Woody took over a team like Duke or Kentucky that had no roster issues (or very few) then I would agree he has to show his stuff year one. We are not in a place roster wise for him to do that. Even our best player is as limited an AA candidate as I have ever seen. We need to make strides I agree with you. But no way can you say he can’t get it done after one year. Or if you did you are just guessing.
I outlined much of why February has been so bad and none of it has been Woody’s fault.
Tonight I'll be really interested to see if Coach can get more energy from TJD. He has to be a leader on this team, even though that's often a heavy load. It makes others better, ultimately lightening the load for him. If not, we're in for a tough couple of weeks. But Woodson is not Archie, so hopefully he can turn things around.
I hope that happens. It’s been mentioned a few times on the forums but I am not sure TJD has been the same since his fall. Hopefully this is as easy to solve as increased effort and execution. I hope TJD looks like he did 5+ games ago, Bates emerges like last game, Gallowy makes an impact, and we knock down open shots. If we do most of that we can go on a good run.
I liked that Woodson was being specific about what is not happening now that was happening earlier in the year. He called out that our defense on the pick-and-roll was awful against Michigan State. I think that was calling out TJD without naming him. Giving him specific things that are not happening now can help him to step up. At least I hope so.

Tonight likely sealed the deal on the ncaa. Id be shocked if we dont lose by 20 at ahio state. Looking like 9-11 very best case.
