Not that we don't know this already, but I thought I would do some research and share the numbers. Here's a list of our average Big Ten finishing position over the last 50 years:

RMK '71 - '80: Second
RMK '81 -'90: Third
RMK '90 - '00: Third
MD '01 - '06: Fifth
KS '07 - '08: Third
TC '09 - '17: Seventh
AM '18 - '21: Ninth
MW '22: Ninth

I talked with a buddy the other day who is also a big IU fan and we marveled at how, the more coaches we fire and hire the worse, and further away from a top 20 program, we seem to get.

Considering what Crean had in his first few years, and the impossibility of success then, it seems unfair and misleading to include those years.
