I was joking. Flag football was about as far as I got.
Well, yeah, that’s exactly the point I was lamely attempting to make. Seems to me the pros get to decide. A dude that’s out of eligibility shouldn’t need to “declare” anything. If he gets drafted or decides to go the UDF route, he should THEN announce and declare. Until then, it’s kinda silly.

Meh. We live in a world where kids hold commitment ceremonies to “sign” with D3 schools that aren’t able to offer athletic scholarships anyway. We love that performative art.
 
The sports illustrated transfer announcement said he had 2 years left. The writer could have been mistaken.

As mentioned it looks like he used up his 4 years but these eligibility rules have gotten so screwed up it's hard to tell.

My kid plays D3 basketball and his high school held a signing ceremony for all the athletes playing a sport in college. Nothing wrong with this as it should be celebrated. Less that 5% of high school athletes play a college sport at any level.
