The firepower needed for a lunar mission is night and day vs. what you need for low Earth orbit. Therefore the complexity and risks also jump tremendously.

This is essentially a modernized Saturn 5, but adding in solid booster technology.

So you're not riding atop a stick of lit dynamite that you are seeking to control, you are riding atop three sticks of lit dynamite that you are seeking to control

Here is one for NASA, they have fixed a problem with Voyager 1 and we are now receiving it's data again. This thing has been travelling 45 years, it has left the solar system, and it is working until the day it returns and destroys earth.

What is amazing about that is I think the Voyagers only have something like a 23 watt transmitter.

Yep when those things fire something is gonna happen. What little I've read about them says they keep burning until fuel is exhausted. Hope the rocket is pointed in the right direction when they ignite.
