Dix, Freeman and Sandfort (the younger) are all in the portal and all seem like they'd fit DeVries' style, not to mention the personal connections between some of those Iowa players and Tucker.

Hopefully coach starts visiting Indiana High Schools and reconnects. Has any IU coach really done that, since RMK?

I'm not saying we need all-Indiana rosters, but if you always have a few Indiana kids on your roster that happen to have the requisite talent, basketball IQ, and skills, plus some shooting would be nice, it provides consistent value to the program. Sure has helped Purdue more than us, this century.

If they're Indiana kids and they have big 10 talent, the should come to Bloomington. Every time.

I just hope he finds some consistent outside shooters, Hoosiers or not. IU must have an inside-outside game for a greater chance of success in the BG10 and post season.

Crean did that , at least at the beginning. I saw him at high school games all the time. And remember he got in trouble for visiting Gary Harris a day after the period had closed?

Right, after they knew he was a bad coach, things went south.
He was all over the place. Just such a roller coaster of a coach. The player development was really good. However, his in game strategy never made any sense.

He recruited raw athletes that developed like Victor, Will, OG, and Juwan but he also recruited Prillers every year too.

Guess we'll see. I didn't remember that CMW didn't attend the IN HS championship a few weeks after his hiring, but a bad sign off the bat. When the AAU championships were here in Rock Hill this summer, Leary was talking about yucking it up with May, Painter and Izzo and CMW was nowhere to be seen, although he may have shown a few days after other coaches arrived. If DD is who I think he is, he'll be at the IN HS championships, sporting a crimson IU quarter zip I would guess. I was surprised that's not what they gave him at the press conference instead of a jersey. Missed a chance at a good laugh I thought.
