A handful of prospects made it out to Indiana's spring game last Friday, including 2020 3-star Indianapolis Scecina wide receiver David Baker, 3-star Ohio DT Gage Keys, 3-star Michigan DT Ali Saad, and Tennessee wide receiver Reggie Neely.

At this point, all are at different stages in the recruiting process.

Baker told us he's already looking at official visits this summer, mentioning Indiana, Penn State, Iowa and Washington State as possibilities. Those schools would unofficially make up his top four, but of course those plans can change given the fluid nature of recruiting. With track season still going on, he doesn't have any visits scheduled beyond an unofficial to Penn State on May 18.

Some have asked about Penn State's connections to to the state of Indiana and how they've been able to land prospects from this state, and if I had to guess it would go back to wide receivers coach Gerad Parker, who held that same position and also served as interim head coach at Purdue under Darrell Hazell.

Keys did not have an offer going into the visit but left with one. Like Baker, he's a multi-sport athlete, so that's going to limit his visit options the rest of spring. He's got an unofficial to Minnesota planned for May 7, but nothing else besides that.

Spoke with Saad last night and will have a story later today, but main thing there is he's going to be taking his time with his recruitment. He's nowhere close to exploring official visit possibilities and won't do so until he trims his list of schools down to a top six or top five by the end of the summer. He didn't get offered during his visit, but he told me running backs coach Mike Hart called him this morning to do so.

For Neely, it was his first visit to IU, and he left without an offer. This is a situation where he and Indiana are getting to know one another and in the early stages of building a relationship.

2020 National top 50 prospect and four-star wide receiver Rashawn Williams of Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King has set a commitment date for April 29. Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, West Virginia and Syracuse are the primary contenders.

Indiana did get some bad news this week with 2020 4-star in-state defensive tackle Cole Brevard committing to Penn State, but if history is any indication, the Hoosiers aren't done recruiting him - look no over than Rivals250 running back Sampson James flipping Ohio State to IU last year.
