Correct me if I am wrong but I believe we'll want to be ranked no lower than 10th to cover any possibility of the future B1G 12 and the G5 conf champions being ranked behind us and jumping over to boot us out.

Although we are a couple weeks early in determining seeding, it sure feels like we are closing in on playing at Penn State or at Notre Dame to open the CFP. Certainly, we have recognized lately that anything can happen so that is far from a lock at this point. Assuming nothing changes though, I think I would prefer to play at Notre Dame. They have played a soft schedule and wouldn't be as prepared for a team like Indiana and you know they would put the PSU game at night in Happy Valley.

Right now, that is the winner of the #2 OSU/#1 Oregon Big Ten championship (assuming both hold serve this weekend), #6 Miami if it wins against #11 SMU, #3 Texas / #7 Georgia winner, #15 Clemson/#13 Arizona State winner according to the rankings.

It’s a normal home game, just like regular season games. Around 2,500 tickets are allotted to the visiting team. All the other tickets are made available to the season ticket holders of the home team.
IU put out a message that if we were to get a home game, season ticket holders would get the first choice to select their tickets through their accounts and seating based on priority point levels. I think I read that tickets would be in the neighborhood of $100-$200 per ticket if IU were to host. Otherwise, if on the road, you are going to be looking at aftermarket tickets at probably $1,000 per ticket. That’s a guess.

Yeah, that's true. So the only issue would be if we are 11 behind the ACC auto bid and the MWC/B1G 12 auto-bid is not in the top 12. Then we would be botted out. Visiting team gets 3500 tickets. That includes band and cheer.

One thing these critics never mention is the SEC only plays eight conference games. They usually load up on cream puffs. Like Tennessee’s non-conference schedule: Chattanooga, UTEP, Kent State and North Carolina St, who is 5-6 and probably no better than any conference teams we have played.

You're probably right in the end. But a Bama win, at a minimum, over Auburn would worry me if they were right behind us. Clemson's ranking, in relation to ours, is more noteworthy. Another thing to note is how big of a spread will there be, between Miami and SMU, and IU.

My guess is losses in conference championship games, as long as the games are fairly competitive, won't be nearly as penalizing as regular season losses are. So if the 2 ACC champ game teams have a large enough Gap, both will probably get in over IU.

Again, probably doesn't matter, IU is likely in with a win over Purdue. But all things to pay attention to, tonight none the less. It'll tell more of the story on what the committee is valuing heading in to championship games.
